state farm and liability insurance

NewMrsWesely, on May 10, 2015 at 11:01 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

So at my venue to serve alcohol you need to get liability insurance. I had heard and read that state farm does NOT do this. WRONG! So I had to go in and pay my insurance and figured I would just ask. If you have renters or homeowners insurance with them it's only $50!!! I was looking at having to spend over $300 to get it through travelers since in my search it was one if the few places I have found out. I am so glad I asked. For all you other ladies needing it, ask you insurance agent. You may just be surprised.

My experience with liquor liability is that it's to as expensive as most people think. Thanks for posting!

I actually called my state farm agent (with whom i have car and renter's insurance) and was told they didn't provide event liability insurance. Smiley sad I guess I should pushed harder. Luckily it wasn't too expensive elsewhere.

What she told me was that they add on a social event policy for it if you already have liability. I have 300k liability already on my plan.

Were you clear that the event would not be in your home? I would think that would make the difference.

I don't own but my parents do and it was actually included on theres? Even though my parents names are not on the contract our venue had no problem with it. $50 in NC.

I told here for where it was and for what. It's a very small town and they just had someone do the insurance policy.

State Farm offers event liability , however it's an exclusion (in SC at least) for liquor liability.
