Starting Over

It really sucks but we've had to literally cancel everything and we're both pretty hurt. FH (and the rest of the office) is battling a ridiculously huge paycheck issue with at work. My mom is gifting us our honeymoon which luckily is booked with Sandals Resorts. They offer free weddings for anyone who stay 3+ nights so that was fun to find out. I guess it's true that there's a silver lining in everything. We're going to do more research but with this new change, we've decided to make it an intimate wedding (maybe 20 max, if that). Now our wedding won't be until February 2021 since that's when our honeymoon trip is booked for.

Have any of you come to a point where you just completely had to start over? How did you overcome the anxiety and frustration? Because my mind is about to explode!

Yea, definitely a slap in the face but I'm still very much excited to marry my best friend no matter how it ends up happening!

Thank you! I'm still trying to keep my head up about losing what we made already. I really felt like everything was finally falling into place but apparently it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully this time around everything works out.

Oh no I'm sorry about this. A silver lining - that is a wonderful statement to live by! I know it'll be beautiful either way!

Oh and I'd say maybe take a little break from planning. Maybe a month or two and then start fresh planning for 2021! I know you had a blast planning the first one so it'll be even more fun planning the second. Of course you wanted the first to happen but maybe now you can put a spin on it. Maybe incorporate some of the old ideas with your new vision. I hope you find some relief soon!

Oh definitely. I haven't planned much of anything lately (mainly because I'm still pretty upset about it). I honestly don't even know what we're going to do. I don't think I want to replan another expensive wedding but only time will tell.

We haven't had to start over but we had to wait 3 years for our wedding (so we can afford it). It definitely wasn't planned because we were looking at venues at the time and realized a wedding in Cali, on the beach is a lot. But now my dad and we're financially able to pay for it helps a lot. I believe everything happens for a reason and maybe even for the better. Starting over sucks but it might give you more clarity and the second time around you'll know what you want for sure (like you said a intimate wedding). Don't feel bad because of the timing , this could be a blessing in disguise. Wish you the best xx
