We're starting to assemble and address our wedding invitations (the most daunting task ever imo) and I realized I have zero clue about stamps. I know that we'll obviously need postage for the invitations and then we'll provide postage for the RSVP envelope. We're sending about 110 invitations.

Where did you all buy your stamps? I've seen a lot of beautiful and unique stamps on Pinterest-worthy envelopes - I feel like they're all, "Use vintage stamps!" and I'm like "Where do you even find vintage stamps what the heck." I love the look but have no idea if it's practical or even remotely affordable. Did anyone do anything creative or unique? Or did you just opt to go with classic forever stamps? Any hints/tips? Thanks!

@Michelle those are the exact one we used for our STD.

I would suggest purchasing from the post office. Like others have said, hardly anyone pays attention to the stamp plus they get cancelled (stamped over to prevent reuse) anyway. Also if you bring your invitation in ready to go, the clerk can weigh it for you and determine what stamp you need.

I had no idea that all forever stamps didn't have the same value. Plus you don't want invitations to be returned for insufficient postage.

I just bout our $.70 stamps today so I have them in my car to take a picture of! We are using the vintage rose and the vintage tulip stamps, you can get them on USPS.com or at the post office. This collection is being discontinued so I had to get them while I still could because I wanted both stamps to match.

@K+S - those are the ones I was just looking at! I think they match our invitations pretty well. Good to know they're being discontinued I'll have to snatch 'em right up!

@KellySD, you can still get the forever stamps online, but I don't think the $.70 are available, hopefully your local post office has them!

Put together an invitation, and go weigh it!!! Go to the post office and have one of them weigh it. You will most likely need more than the regular postage. Then, you can order the pretty wedding stamps online at usps.com - that's what we did Smiley smile

I'm using vintage stamps, I bought them on EBay and Etsy. I have enough for about 115 invited and I paid around 130 dollars, each envelope will have about .75 cents on them.
