Spray tan before wedding??

Chelsea, on December 20, 2017 at 5:35 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11
Should I get a spray tan before my wedding?? I’m on the fair side and my wedding is outside. I don’t want it to rub off on my dress. I’ve never got a spray tan before so don’t know much about it. Any suggestions? How good are the spray tans??

I love spray tans, but I would get one now or when you are doing your alterations to see how you like it. If you never had one before, don't have your wedding be the first time without a trial.

I would recommend having a person do it versus a booth. Also get it a day or two in advance so that it starts to wear off a little to avoid getting it on your dress. Ask the person doing it how far in advance to schedule, they know best. I am also super pale and had great success with a mystic tan spray booth which you could also look into.

If you have time I would do a couple trial runs. I did a spray tan one time for a Vegas trip at my salon and 75% of the color either ended up on my clothes or washed off in the shower. It didn't seem worth the money, hassle, or mess. I'm sure it depends on the type and who does it. If you don't have time for a few trial runs I wouldn't mess with it personally.

Do a trial run, and if you can have someone do it not the machine. I love the versa spa and never had problems with an even tan but it’s iffy and you don’t want to be streaky or blotchy.

I LOVE spray tans and definitely agree with PP - do a couple trials before the big day to see what shade and timing works best for you.

I’ll be getting mine the day before (probably in the morning) to give it a ton of time to soak in, then rinsing off before bed. That always gives me the best color with the least transferring the next day.

Do multiple trial runs to make sure you're going to love it.

I am very fair and I got spray tans 1-2 (can’t remember exactly) times a week for my suster’s wedding. When I arrived. She said...I thought you were going to get a tan for the wedding!!!! My point is....you will need many more than one spray to for it to look natural. Sometimes the spray can go wrong also. I’m in the same predicament. I’m trying to decide what to do as well.

I regularly go to a local airbrush place-- she's an actual lady and not a booth. She has an airbrush gun (like what they paint cars and houses with) and she mixes the solution for each tan. I like that she keeps a record of the percentages she uses on me so she'll be able to reproduce it for my next tan. Search Yelp for airbrush tans in your area and try one out with plenty of time beforehand!
