Reading the article listed in the page 1 post, it sounds like WAY more work that it would be worth. I know it would never fly in my town.

...be famous? I'm sure Kim Kardashian doesn't need to ask these questions...

I don't understand why you would want to do that. I wouldn't want my wedding associated with specific products. It should be about FH and I and the people we love...

In some cultures, people (friends or family) will offer to pay for things for the wedding. My husbands family did this for our wedding, I DID not one anyone to "sponsor" our wedding, but they find it offensive if you accept their help.

@Kathryn, that type of sponsor I understand, it's cultural. In my mind I'm picturing a Nascar themed wedding with the B&G sporting company names.

I think your bank account can sponsor it.

I have never heard of a wedding being sponsored. Does that mean entirely paid for by someone/something else? You probably won't find much support on this forum... Most people save up until they can host a wonderful wedding on their own. I recently heard about this, which may be something you're interested in (it's not "sponsored" as in free - I don't think - but it's for a joint wedding, "double the budget" (??)... I'm not really sure of the details)...

    http://www.thinkfactorymedia.com/now-casting-engaged-couples-open-joint-wedding/

    "Hello Rachel,

I'm a Casting Producer at Thinkfactory Media. We're an Emmy Award winning TV & Film Production Company based out of Los Angles, CA.

I am thrilled to say our previous pilot has officially been picked up for a BRAND NEW SERIES with a fabulous Major Cable Network. This exciting new TV show will document what it's like to plan a wedding with double the budget, double the ideas...and double the brides! Yep...we are casting for a new show about double weddings!

We know that couples already planning a double/joint wedding are rare. So the Network has agreed that couples don't have to be currently planning a double wedding, and they can reach out to friends and family to see if they want to join their wedding.

We wanted to reach out to see if any of your wedding professional would be interested in sharing this concept with their brides & grooms to be? It could be a fun way for their wedding to double in size/budget, and of course be featured on a new TV show. I've attached our Casting Notice with a little more info.

We are happy to answer any and all questions that you may have, so please don't hesitate to reach back out!

Let me know if any of you may have any couple interested.

    Thank you,

    Emily

Found this gem in the article from page 1, which makes this idea sound even better...

"P.S. If at any point in this article you get overwhelmed, designate a friend to help. Appoint them to be your Best Marketer. It will look great on their resume and help you a ton with the following…"

Getting a wedding sponsored is when when vendors offer discounted or free packages and services in exchange for advertising at the wedding by placing their logos on everything, including invitations.

This is beyond tacky and no one does this.

I mean my FH's aunt's wedding is being sponsored by Univision, but that's because she's a famous tv personality. Unless you're famous, you're not going to get your wedding sponsored. Save up for a wedding you can afford.
