We are having the big traditional Catholic wedding and today she asked FH what my dress color was. He responds with "white". She continues to ask if she can wear ivory as this dress she...

FH has an aunt that he is extremely close to. So close that we made her & her husband one of our primary sponsors.

We are having the big traditional Catholic wedding and today she asked FH what my dress color was. He responds with "white". She continues to ask if she can wear ivory as this dress she likes only comes in ivory or black.

My response?

"Is she gonna wear a veil too?"

I don't even know. Am I being too harsh thinking I should be the only one in the white/ivory color that day?

Personally, i don't care what anyone wears. i'll doubt they'll be any confusion as to who's the bride.

NO! That dress is ridiculously bridal.

My officiant even has a white robe and I requested that she not wear it because I didn't want her in white, lol. I told her just to wear a nice dress or a pantsuit, whichever she preferred.

That looks like a wedding gown!!! I'd be livid... I'm wearing a white tea length dress for my spring wedding and if anyone has the nerve to wear a white or ivory dress there is going to be red wine on it by the time they leave!!! I know i'm horrible, but really what is wrong with people!!!??? You don't freaking wear white/ivory to a wedding unless you are THE BRIDE!

I know how you feel. My fiancé's grandma wanted to wear a white dress. I obviously couldn't say anything, but I was like aww man... haha But my fiancé's mom took her shopping the other day and she will be wearing gray! Thank goodness for FMIL! That dress you posted is too bridal though. I would tell her that it is very bridal. Tell her to order it in black.

It looks like a wedding dress, I would let her know now that you're not okay with the dress or color! I would be so upset if anyone showed up to my wedding in that.
On a side note though,
What exactly is a sponsor?
