Spinoff: personalized name hangers-CONFUSION!

Taryn, on April 2, 2015 at 1:59 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

I see some people putting "Mrs. Future Name" & some just put there first name. I'm so confused on which to order!

I love the idea of having the "Mrs. Future Name" but I'm confused because technically at that time of the dress photo you are still your maiden name.

Can someone unconfuse me please?

Before I decided against the personalized hanger route I was going to do the wedding date or my name. My family thought it was poor taste to have your future last name on it before you are actually married, and for the same reason you mentioned.

Looking back at the photos you will be Mrs. Future Name, and the dress is the one you wore to make the transition. ...hypothetically you could take the dress photo after the ceremony if it makes more sense to you!

    I did Mrs. FutureName

I didn't want to put Future Mrs.FutureName on there. And I didn't want to do just my first name. Don't over think this...its not a huge deal

I figure I'm becoming Mrs. Lastname that day, that's pretty much the point of the day, so I want my hanger to say that.

I feel it is totally up to you. If you want to order in a more generic name... I have seen some that say "Bride" but for me mine will say "Mrs. Future Name" because I feel that is the name I will be entering into on my wedding day. I want to be proud of it. Smiley smile Hope that helps.

If you're just going to put "Bride" then just buy it at Michael's and save yourself the shipping fee - I put on mine Mrs. Pereira

ETA: Honestly I have never seen them with just the first name. Always Mrs. Lastname

    Thanks ladies that does help!

@mrs cheapskate $5 or $100, it doesn't matter I want to like it and it's something I know I will keep..that's why I asked. Not for you to tell me it's a $5 hanger and who cares

I ordered mine as Mrs. Future Name. I agree with FMP the first names I've only seen for the BM's.

Basically...there is NO right way for this. Its what you want. Its not "supposed" to be your future last name just like if you do one for bridesmaids its "supposed" to be their first names.
