SPINOFF: Do you wear a garter if you're not doing a garter toss?

Sometimes there are two garters (just like often there are two bouquets: the one the bride keeps & the one that gets tossed) there is a garter to wear (usually for that that night and its fancier and saved) and the one you pretend to wear or wear briefly that gets thrown.

BTW: garters aren't just for weddings. w/o the TMI but you know what I mean

I'm with @Faran on this one. we're not doing a garter toss, but I'd still like to wear one that goes with whatever lingerie I'm wearing. I'm sure FH will appreciate it.

We aren't doing a garter toss so I'm not wearing one. To me it would feel like a waste.

Nah... I don't want to have to wear even more crap than I already will be. My FSIL didn't do the toss, but wore one for her FH anyway.. He still says he doesn't understand why she did it.

I've worn garter to hold up my thigh high stockings, but I never understood the decorative ones for weddings. I won't be wearing on, or doing a toss.

I am not sure if we are doing an actual garter toss, but if we do, I'll be putting it on just before that happens. Not wearing it all day. Reason being I am wearing an extremely tight mermaid dress, and I've gained 25lbs since I bought it, sooooo ya know, there's some stuffed sausage situation going on with that already, let alone adding an uncomfy garter to it. My legs are pressed together more firmly than a vice grip as it is.

We got pictures of my MOH putting the garter on my leg, but then I asked her to take it off right away, haha.

I don't think it would have stayed and DH did not want to do a garter toss.

I guess you could if you wanted to but I don't really see the point.

We did a garter toss and I wore my garter all day. I didn't even feel it and forgot it was there. I was actually surprised when we did the removal that it was still there because by that point it was like 6 hours later and I had danced and drank and sweat...(ed?).

I have no good answer with this, because I'm pretty sure I'm doing things ass backwards. I wasn't planning on doing a garter toss, then FH decided he wanted to do it. So I ordered a really cool set from etsy- one wear and one toss. Problem is that when it came, I fell in love with them and can't bring myself to toss either one of them. I have a garter from my first wedding that I never used (a friend bought it for me, but I didn't want to do the toss so it's sat in the box since) and I'm going to use that as a throw. I'm just going to put it on my calf really quick before the throw. I think I'm going to wear the other two still, one on each leg. They're the wide lace type and they have double stick tape to help keep them up. My thought is that they might help with thigh chafing because they're so wide. I might be completely wrong; we'll see.

I'm wearing one even though we aren't doing a toss. It'll be my something blue. It comes free with my dress purchase so I figure why not wear it.
