Spinoff- childhood photos at reception

Soon2BMrsB, on March 13, 2015 at 10:21 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

My FMIL has only asked for one thing- for us to have childhood pictures at the reception. I'm at a total loss, I don't know what to do with them, I don't want to buy a ton of frames, and where do I put them? What are other people doing? Ideas? Please help, I don't want a table of random out of place pictures

I've seen on Pinterest that people have used them as their table numbers. Both of you at Age 1 use on table 1...etc.

Can you use them as table numbers? Each photo would be of you and FH (table 1 would be 1 year, table 2 two years, ect).

Or I would just make an 8 x 10 canvas of one of each of you and display at the escort table or something...you can find deals all the time on groupon

Yeah I've seen that and it's cute but I did paintings for all the table numbers already

I've also seen where people do pictures on the bathroom doors for girls vs boys room and I think that could be cute, but I'm not sure if that will make her happy. I think part of my apprehension is not knowing if I'm going to be expected to display the pics in our house after, maybe I'm overthinking it

I went to a thrift store and bought a bunch of frames for dirt cheap & am going to spray paint them all the same silver. After that maybe you could just scatter them and only do a few..like on the guest book table or something

You can just display them if you don't want to use them as table numbers. Maybe by the guest book? Either in frames or the best 2 blown up like Maltese said. I plan to use them as table numbers and pair us up by year rather than age, like both of us in 1984, both of us in 1990, and name the tables as years rather than just 1-12. Then we can use some teen/grownup pics of us too in case we don't have enough cute childhood ones (Also my FH is a twin so there are very few childhood pics of just him!)

One wedding I went to used pictures as part of the centerpieces. Didn't look out of place, it was cute. They also had a big collage of their photos on display.

I think we are doing the baby pics of us in the bathtub for the bathroom doors at the reception. We also have pictures that are almost identical of us each in a high chair with food smeared all over our face (we love to eat). Our moms thought it was adorable that we have the same picture of us so I think we are going to print those and put on display with our popcorn bar/snack table

We are using our childhood pictures for the bathrooms and at the guest book table. My mom found a frame with what I guess you could call chicken wire where the glass would be....so I bought mini clothes pins and pinned pictures of us. I tried to match them up, like a picture of each of us eating spaghetti, halloween outfits etc. It came out really cute!

We did several things with childhood and dating pictures and everyone remarked on how they loved seeing them.

I created a "memory lane" on a long ledge on the way into the reception. I used old frames that I had and dollar store ones. I also used a tree branch sprayed white with small clothes pins to hold pictures, and a multi opening frame from the clearance aisle at target. Empty boxes under the table cloths added height. It really worked out well

On the tables I made photo holders with 3 wine corks glued together, added ribbon and flowers and feathers that went with my theme. People loved to see which photo was on each table.

You can do something with twine lace or ribbon and clothespins to hang them. Also, my venue has a tv and they said we can bring a jump drive to plug in to play across the tv.

We are probably going to do a slideshow sometime before the dancing begins. We are going to use pictures of both of us and then lead in to our relationship and show our engagement pictures at the end. Maybe your venue can do something like that with an AV package.
