Speech before mother daughter dance.

Krystyna, on May 26, 2019 at 12:13 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
My father passed away when I was little so Instead of a father-daughter dance, I will be dancing with my mom. I wanted the dj to say something about my dad passing. So far I have... in honor of the brides father, who passed away when she was young, her and her mother.... im not sure how to finish the sentence. Advice on any of the wording is greatly appreciated.

Maybe something along the lines of "to honor the memory of the bride's father, who passed away when she was young, she and her mother will be sharing this dance."

    Hi Krystyna.

This is a really sweet idea for your wedding day Smiley heart

Jennifer has a great suggestion for you!

You could also speak with the DJ and see what he/she has done at weddings before if they did something similar. He/she may have a suggestion!

What song will you and your mom dance to?

Could you just do the mother daughter dance & then have a short speech separately for your dad? It may take away from the dance for your mom ( to be honest, I did a mother/daughter dance & loved it. )

I agree, that the dance with her should stand by itself. Don't take away from the dance with the mother who has been here, and continued raising her. . . . At the before dinner brief speech/ toasts time might be a nice time for mother to say something in his memory, about the hopes and dreams she and her husband had all those years ago, and that daughter is everything they could have wanted. And that father is still missed. Then a little toast to the future.

Thank you so much ladies! asked the Dj but he said to tell him exactly what I want him to say. We will be dancing to I loved her first... there’s a mom version. My mom doesn’t speak English very well so I don’t think she’d be comfortable saying a separate speech but I can always ask.
