So it seems I've been posting a lot lately and I apologize for that! WW has been my go to when needing unbiased opinions. Thank you all for that! Bored at home yesterday, I decided to play dress up in my wedding gown. I've been in a fluff when trying to figure out my hairstyle. I was 100% confident I wanted all down, just because that's me lol. Yesterday, I did a terrible pin job of my hair in an updo to get the idea. I was wowed by it! So then I was pretty sure I wanted my hair up. But! My friends and family are giving me mixed reactions. It seems those who are a little older prefers hair up, where my younger group (20s) prefers down. Now I don't know 🤦
Love or hate, what are your thoughts between the two.... I just want to look the best version of me, whichever it may be.
Thank youcfb_1388893.jpg

Wow, you're stunning in both. I feel like the updo is even more elegant. But, which seems more like you???? If you never wear it up, you might look back at the photos and wish you looked more like "you" by wearing it down.

I Prefer Updos. They Look More Mature Depending On The Dress.

I'm in the same boat as you. But my personal opinion for you is an updo.

I actually love your hair pulled up as it amshows off the lovely detail of your dress, shoulders and back, maybe do as other pp said, half up and half down but Side swept?

    Dress twin!!

I'll be wearing mine half up and half down but my hair is also thinner and comes just below my shoulders. You look stunning either way!

    NOT hair related...

Are you getting your dress bustled or at you going to change into a reception dress? I'm changing in to a reception dress after dinner as it's lighter and has straps so I can dance.

    Dress twin!! 🙌 yess!
Thank you!! I think FH and I agreed a half do as well. He really liked a pic a PP attached, then I bought a sparkly headband just to give a little more something. Were you able to get your dress lined yet!? I'm thinking about doing the same so I can wear undergarments since my alterations were a bust.

I'll be in the same heavy dress all night 😂 we did a 5pt bustle which worked out well! Looks nice too. I tried a higher 3 pt bustle up past my butt but it pulled down on my back too much

I do love the lower bustle for sure, the higher one seems like it would be rather uncomfortable and I can see where the weight of it would pull the dress down in the back. I just wanted to have straps to dance in so that is why I went with a reception dress. It is still in alterations as I got it off the rack on clearance and the beading was all sorts of messed up but I'm still in love with the look of it and the practicality. I went with another Bridal store for alterations and they were able to line my dress and take it out a bit in the hip as I'm more pear shaped. They are even holding onto my dress for me until wedding day, going in for my next fitting in September with our now postponed date of December 12.

Ooooohhh! Do you have a pic?? Yeah I didn't feel like dealing with strapless for dancing, so I opted for those straps. Only had 2 to choose from. I don't really care for them but oh well. Going to a different bridal store was a smart bet. I'm sure you'll be a lot more pleased with the work! What type of undergarments are you going with? Did they line the plunge too?

I haven’t seen it yet but I’m excited!!! They left the back open and the deep V open. I bought the sticky bra to maintain the open back element. I’ll send you a pic once I get one!! ❤️

It still needs alterations obviously but I got it at Davids on sale for like $85. Including alterations it should be like $200 total.

That is GORGEOUS!!!! You look so beautiful and classy!!! Hahaha I also got a 2nd dress from Davids. To accommodate me for my alterations, they're refunding me 280 dollars when the store opens and offered me a discount on another gown for my upcoming private ceremony. They'll still fix alterations too, but in the meanwhile, and once I get my refund, I basically paid 80 dollars for a 500 dollar gown in the end!! Its suppose to be delivered today!
