I'm mostly curious about your something old? I'm at a loss with this! My new is my dress, borrowed are my mom's pearls (they're not old, sadly), blue is the handle of my bouquet has a blue light (it's a sonic screwdriver from doctor who). My family isn't much for holding on to things. We moved a lot during my childhood so if it wasn't a necessity, it didn't get moved. I'd love to hear about your something old. Maybe it will help jog my memory.

I was just about to suggest the old photo as a charm for the bouquet. While I didn't do the "something old" on purpose, my biological father is no longer alive, and found with his possessions was a locket of my brother and me when we last saw him (long story). I pinned this locket to my bouquet in memory of him.

That's really sweet. I don't have any old sentimental photos. I don't have any jewelry. I'm such a minimalist. I am going to call my mom up and see what she says. If she comes up blank, I'll ask my best friend.

I was thinking of wearing the same kind of perfume that my grandmom used to wear (a new bottle of it). Could you do something like that, from your mom, grandmother or even FMIL?

I'm not sure what I'm doing. I'm borrowing my mom's pearl bracelet, which is like 20 years old. I also always wear my grandmom's engagement ring, so that could qualify too, I guess. I'm stuck on blue, but that's not too difficult.

My mom doesn't wear perfume and my grandmother's perfume is terrible lol but I love that idea! Ill have to ask my mom if she had a signature scent once upon a time. FMIL doesn't approve of the wedding so we didn't want to ask her.

Maybe go to an antique store and see if there’s anything you can add to your decor or something. Or is the venue old?

I suppose it is. The gazebo we are getting married in is definitely older than I am.

My something new is - my dress and boots.
My something old and blue are the same item - a hanky from my grandma/best friend that she gave me before she passed.
My barrowed will be - probably a price of jewelry or something from my mom, because she's not really doing much else with my wedding.
I love the idea of doing a perfume a family member used to wear, maybe ask your mom or grandma or siblings or bestie if they have any jewelry they've had for at least a year you could barrow, then you got your old and borrowed in one. Or go to a thrift store and find an antique peice of jewelry or a charm you like and add it somewhere as your old.

I have the sixpence, the new is my dress, I don't know about the old or borrowed, and I'm thinking about wearing tieks for my wedding shoes with the blue bottoms!

I'm thinking of having a piece of my grandmothers wedding dress made into a garter. She wanted me to wear her dress because i decoded i would when i was 13. She was a size 2 and married at She 18. I'm 33 and a size 12.... no way to fit. She wants to donate it to be made into gowns for babies that pass away at the hospital so I figure I could just take what I need first.

My borrowed is my soon to be sister - in - law's veil. New is my dress or the necklace as earrings my soon to be mother- in - law gave me for the wedding. And blue is the aquamarine in my engagement ring.

My engagement ring as a diamond that was my grandmother's. I'm genuinely curious why this matters? Is their some superstition around it? I know it's a thing, but why so much concern, and "rules" as to what counts and what doesn't? I didn't know there was so much to it! LOL

My new is my dress. My blue is my engagement ring because it has blue topaz stones. My something old and borrowed will (hopefully) be a pearl necklace from either my mother or my grandmother.
