Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue.

I assume the ‘new’ could potentially be the dress if it’s not handed down. Which mine isn’t. However, how do you choose these? Old jewelry, shoes? Borrowed? Blue? What are you all doing?

Oh, I love these! Here are mine-

Old: My aunt's engagement ring (she passed in 2014).

    New: Dress

Borrowed: My sister's ring she was given when she had her daughter. She wears it most days.

    Blue: Toenail polish

I'm going to put the rings in a little jewelry bag and pin it to the inside of my dress.

Blue toenail polish might be the easiest for me as I literally can’t think of anything ‘blue’ - also need to work on something borrowed. I love how everyone has an aunt, grandmother or mom they are borrowing from. I think that’s super sweet 🥰

If my sister hadn't given me her ring, I was definitely just planning on borrowing some lipgloss from my bff before walking down the aisle! haha

Blue toenail polish is a cute idea some other cute easy options I ve seen are blue undergarment, a blue ribbon pinned inside your dress or to your bouquet, or a blue flowers in your bouquet. The slippers are super cute I believe they are from amazon.

My something old is my moms garter. On the garter is my something blue (which the garter is also blue but...) is an antique pin from her grandmother. I have not figured out my something borrowed by my something new is everything else. LOL. I will probably go with my dress.

Lol nice! I’d thought the something blue were your cute sparkly shoes. I am also struggling with the something borrowed. Maybe I can get something from my mom. Not sure what though.

For my something new I got my dress, something old my future MIL gave me a pearl necklace to wear on the day, for my something borrowed my best girl friend offered me some earrings that match everything perfectly, and I'm still looking for something blue!

Old: I don't know yet but it will be hard for me: I'm not wearing a veil and I never wear jewelry (the wedding ring will be the only one - I told my fiancé beforehand that I didn't even want an eng. ring). I might end up stealing Melle's idea: the underwear lol.

    New: Dress and shoes.
Borrowed: My fiancé's sister wore a headpiece at her wedding! Much to my surprise (we are not close), she offered to lend it to me, I said yes because I like it.

Blue: My shoes and fiancé's suit. My fiancé said he WILL be my something blue, he'll wear a blue tie + pocket square or a blue suit lol. He knew from day 1 that I would love him to wear a blue suit anyway 😍 but I'll buy blue shoes in addition.

How sweet!!! I like your something borrowed - I thought we had to get something from someone who’d been married for years. What about blue toenail polish for something blue? I am considering that.

If I’m being totally honest… I wasn’t planning on having any of these “something new, old, borrowed, blue” stuff until people just started giving me things to wear and the earrings she showed me are GORGEOUS so I just said hell yeah when she offered haha she’s a newlywed herself so maybe it can still count 😆

LOL ! yes indeed!! We’ll take it! I asked a coworker today what she used for ‘something borrowed’ and she did none of these.

Something new - my wedding dress & a handkerchief my Nonna bought me to carry with our names and the date of our wedding on it

Something old - my engagement ring is actually a family heirloom that my Nonna passed down to me via my fiance when he proposed

Something blue - my fiance is a Chelsea football fan, so I'm ordering a chelsea garter (their primary color is blue)

Something borrowed - our wedding colors are burgundy, blush, and champagne.. My mom is lending me a bracelet, necklace, and earrings to wear that have diamonds and garnet strands
