So my shoes arrived today...and they make those awful fart noises when I walk!!!

Sarah, on November 19, 2013 at 5:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

My shoes were waiting for me when I got home. Yay! They are open toe ballet flats. I put them on and was like, yeah these will work! Then I began to walk around the house in them...every time I step, there is that awful farting noise! Augh! Will it go away? I don't want people to think I am passing gas as I walk down the aisle! Haha. My problems are ridiculous.

Hopefully that will go away as you break them in! Otherwise have a backup pair?

If you can walk down the aisle like that and keep a serious, straight face the entire time like nothing's wrong, that would be one hilarious wedding day story Smiley laugh

I have to hand it to you, Sarah-- a lot of what I read on this board, I think, "Really? You're worried about THAT?!" but I would NOT want my shoes making that noise down the aisle! Maybe the baby powder will work, or maybe a different type of stocking/hose. Good luck!

Hahaha Smiley smile could you add a shoe insert? A fabric lined one might stop the noise... never tried.

I hope my shoes don't fart...

@Zoe- right?! I try not to stress about too much, but this is something totally unexpected that I have to handle. With all the problems in the world, I feel ridiculous worrying about this! But still, I don't want to be pseudo-tooting down the aisle!

Use baby powder like Gamecox said. Pointe shoes will do that sometimes too and we put a little baby powder on the inside (it's from rosin getting on the inside of the shoe and mixing with moisture)... It's probably from the sides of the shoe so, I would take them to a shoe repair and ask them for ideas of what to put on the inside to help but not be too bulky. Smiley smile

Try baby powder or get those little mini foot stocking things that you can wear under flats that (usually) don't show.

Thank you guys so much! I am going to try the baby powder and the little stockings and see what happens. I hope anyone else reading this remembers to test her shoes before the big day! Smiley smile
