So little time, so little wine

Future Mrs. Cwik, on April 27, 2019 at 9:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
We’re crazy! We just got engaged last week and we’re getting married in March. Anyone else on a short timeline? How ya doing out there? We have reasons for getting hitched so soon (not a baby!), but I still feel like 11 months is basically 15 minutes in wedding planning. Y’all managing with wine, too? 😉

I’m having a bit longer of an engagement- 14 months. HOWEVER, I went crazy on planning in the first two months and now there’s hardly anything for me to do until it gets closer. Pinterest has timelines for a year out wedding with one or two months off so you can condense it to 10 months even if you want to. Biggest things is getting your venue and food/ alcohol/ music vendors then go from there

Engaged in Feb will be married in January. Much of my ideas were in my head way before we got engaged. By late Feb I had everything on paper ready to go. By mid March I threw out the paper and changed ALL MY PLANS several times. Last week invitations went out to our small ceremony we are having in Colorado. And then throwing a backyard party when we get back. I am a huge planner and control freak. If it were up to me, I’d get married in July! so I won’t drive myself crazy from now until January. But we really want to get married during winter.

11 months is actually plenty of time. Some do it in 6 months...that is crazy. You will be fine. Just have fun and keep your checklist handy.

Our time frame from engagement to wedding is 10 months. I did almost everything (finding vendors, making deposits, planning the colors, times, decorations, etc) within the first two months. There’s more to do, but I definitely have plenty of time to get everything done. It really depends on where you want to have the wedding (as in, does your preferred venue have your the date you want available?), how many guests you’re inviting, and how elaborate you want it to be.

11 months is plenty of time. We had a similar timeline, book you're venue soon and everything else will fall into place.
I felt like I had tons of time, now we're 3 months out and it's starting to get real.

Y’all are giving me hope! Thank you-we have a small budget and a small timeline, so it’s great to know it’s doable!

You can do it!!! Our engagement will be around 11 months (getting married 12/7/19). We took about a month to nail down a venue/date (we saw a 2-3 venues a week and went to a bridal expo). After that, we took 3-4 hours each weekend for the next couple of weekend to research and book the key vendors (DJ/reception music, photographer etc) and to organize our guest list. We made it fun, spread our computers and brochures out on the dining room table, poured some wine and had some appetizers :-) Spending a good chunk of time getting organized in the beginning helps. Now I’m just working through the smaller details as they come up with minimal stress.
