So happy to be off the Knot!

What happened? i always hear horror stories but i used to use the knot and it was always really nice. i only posted in the june 2011 board though.

I am in total agreeance with you.. I posted on the Knot as well and had what felt like my head ripped off..

Welcome! Everyone has off days, and sometimes comments are made that either shouldn't have been made or are taken the wrong way...hopefully that won't happen here to you :-)

Welcome Ashleigh....I have a knot account but I only use it to find more vendor searches. I have always heard horror stories as well about the forums on the knot.

I've never used the Knot, I can't seem to navigate around that site, it's so confusing.

Welcome! Glad you joined us! I have a knot account too, but never bothered to post in their forums. I like the people on this forum and always just come here when I need help or to offer my help. Haven't been on the knot in awhile actually now that I think about it. LOL.

Know that we do have some Honest brides on here, that will not pat you on the back and say "good job" if they think something is not "pretty' or doesn't look "right."

The thing with the internet is that you can't tell the TONE people are speaking. So, try not to take offense to things being typed if you are asking opinions. Read what you want, and ignore what is not useful to you.

Go to your profile, then right next to where it says photos, tnere is the word edit. Click on it and it will give you the option to upload or change photos

In the upper right hand side... click on settings, click on Manage Profile Settings and upload a picture to change your avatar.

It doesn't need to be your face, an image will do.

Different images let us remember you better.

Thank you so much everyone!!! I won't go into detail, after my last post now I feel very embarrassed for asking the question I had, but it was in regards to a family member's attire. I can handle constructive criticism and would have accepted a response to the tune of "No, this isn't something you should stress out about" or "You're getting married! Revel in the happy moments and not the things you can't change". Of course that's not the response I received, and I really should have known better. I tried to be firm with my response to the posts but when name calling happens that's when I chose to distance myself. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has not had a pleasant experience there! "Soon to be Mrs. M" I agree, I will use the site for ideas but I am not touching their forum. If I have a questions I will ask my question here!

Hi Ashleigh! Welcome to WW. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience at the other forum. The brides here are pretty helpful, and are happy to help brainstorm with you. There's no such thing as a stupid question as most of us haven't planned a wedding before. We have a good number of married girls who stick around to help us brides-to-be out.
