Would you or wouldn’t you go thru your MIL’s phone messages if you thought she was sabotaging your engagement? Yes or No?

Heck no. She got mad at me for answering her phone when I saw her son was calling her and I didn’t want it to go to voicemail. If I were you I would not to anybody who may repeat things back to her about your wedding. Keep your engagement/wedding plans on the down low if you think she’s trying to sabotage it.

    1. I wouldn't. My FMIL is a pain but everyone is entitled to a little privacy.

    2. If I thought she was sabotaging my engagement I would just talk to her straight.

    3. I would also have my FS talk to her and tell her she needs to stop whatever it is she is doing to make you feel like shes trying to ruin your engagement.

    Good luck girl!

Absolutely not. If you're feeling this way I think you need to talk to your FS about it. Especially if you think she has any bearing or say about your relationship. That's a FS problem not a MIL problem.

My FH's mom has passed away so that's a non-issue, but I was married before and My ex MIL was constantly trying to undermine our relationship. I didn't have to go through the phone to prove that though, he and I both knew. In the end it wasn't because of her we broke up but i'm sure she was happy.

I want to know the full story lol! But, I have a fantastic FMIL, so I guess I just don’t get it. Say something to her face to face, don’t be sneaky.

Never. Don't even think about it. If you have an issue, talk about it directly with your FI or FMIL. But don't sneak around behind d someone's back , that would be a nasty thing, unforgivable whether you were right in your suspicions or not. No one would ever trust you again.

Absolutely not. First of all FH wouldn't be bad mouth texting his mom about me.....so why would I be snooping. Granted I love my FMIL, she's a great woman. But even if i had a bad relationship with FMIL i wouldn't... you have to respect people's privacy.

I love this advice....I think hearing a statement like this I'm like woah FH and I are closer to each other than anyone else...so when I feel jealous why do i feel jealous..no one gets in the middle of our relationship. (I know it's a completely different topic, but idk this changed my mindset so thank you!!)

Hecks no I wouldn't do that! what would you gain from doing this?

And how do you think you would look after you expose what you've found?
