Sneakers under the dress?

So I picked up my dress yesterday (!!!!) and even though I ordered the petite, its super long and will def need to be hemmed. I originally bought kitten heels to wear because tore a tendon in my hip socket and I am waiting till the week after my wedding to have surgery. Because of this, I'm contemplating wearing Sketchers Shape-Ups (remember those?) they have a 3" platform foam heel that will not only help with the *massive* height difference between me and FH (he's 6'4 and I'm 5'1) but I think they will also give me the support and comfort I'll need to be standing for a million hours. Have you all heard of brides wearing sneakers on their day? TIA!

Not a sneaker with gorgeous dress fan. Or tuxedos. Too overdone to be cool, but I can understand wearing them if you've got a medical issue going on.

    Flats?

But not my wedding, not my feet.

You might check out this eBay shop for wedding sneakers, that are dressed up a bit from plain sneakers:

Try wearing the dress and shoes together. It might be more awkward than you think.

Do whatever makes you comfortable, at the end of the day you don't want to be in pain. Yes it is a bit tacky but no one will see them under your dress, except for maybe if you do a garter toss.

The prob with flats is that he is a foot taller than me and I was hoping to be able to kind of bridge the gap with heels even if its a few inches. Plus the dress is meant to cover my feet regardless, so no one will see it unless I shout it from the rooftops LOL! I will DEF check out the ebay shop, thanks @2nd bride!! I feel like, if I'm surrounded by my closest family and friends, they already know that I am a sneaker girl, plus, I'm not doing the garter toss (FH is against it, plus there will be ZERO single men there, as all my family and friends are already married). Same with the bouquet toss, we are going to go with the dancing of the longest married couple and give them the flowers.

But I figure if I'm going WAY out of my comfort zone with the dress (soooo not what I envisioned I'd be wearing) I should at least have some comfort LOL! Thanks ladies!

I am so happy to see other people are fans of converse! My dad loves the idea, but everybody else has tried to talk me out of it. So excited to be comfortable and cute on my wedding day!

My mom broke her ankle and wore sneakers with her dress. I plan on wear some kind of fancy flip flop with mine since I fail at walking in heels

I had to wear chucks for a friend's wedding under a $200 quite formal gown and I felt clunky and awkward. And I own chucks in every color so they are my shoe. Take them with you when you try on your dress and see how you feel.

I'm a huge sneakerhead and will be wearing Jordans with my dress. Actually my fiancee and I are wearing matching Jordans...our guys are wearing Jordans in a different color. Our girls will be wearing whatever dress shoes they want in gray/silver. I love heels as much as my sneakers but I've never seen myself wearing heels walking down the aisle. I will, however be putting on my 5 inch heels for the afterparty!

Hi FutureMrs. Most brides I photograph wear "bridal shoes" for the pictures and ceremony. Once they get to the reception, those puppies come off and their dancing shoes are put on! Best wishes for a speedy recovery (and a wonderful wedding!!!)

So my shoes came and I love them!! I got the skechers shape ups and they have the height I want with the comfort I need! My seamstress was not at all shocked by this and was happy that I'd brought them with me for my fitting Smiley smile

Oh my gosh how cute!!! Did your feet hurt in these? I plan to get some chucks for the reception but I know they have little support and I don’t want my feet to get sore
