Smoky Mountain Honeymoon

Amanda, on July 5, 2020 at 7:51 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4
We just cancelled our Honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean. Instead, we booked a cabin in Pigeon Forge for a week. It will also be my FH’s birthday while we are there. While it’s not the honeymoon we dreamt of, we are still excited to make another trip to the smokies. We plan to spend a little more time in Gatlinburg and visit the national park as well. We are visiting in October, so I’m hoping the fall colors will be in full swing. Any ideas how we can make our honeymoon extra special since we’ve already visited the smokies Once before? Also any ideas of what I could do for my FH’s birthday while we are there?

This is such a great idea! My sister and her husband did this and they loved it! Good luck and I hope you all have a great time!

Fun! We are getting married in Pigeon Forge and honeymooning at a cabin in Gatlinburg! We will be there in March.
We have been to Gatlinburg several times so we decided to do a honeyfund for our honeymoon to get gifts for specific activities we’d never do on our own. We hope to get tickets to the Pirates Voyage Dinner Show, Titanic Museum, things like that that we can never convince ourselves to shell out the money for when we are there.
If you haven’t been since the sky bridge has been built you have to do that! And do it twice, once in the day time and you must go back at night. Amazing! We have done a lot of hiking in the area but I don’t know the details, FH is always in charge of that.

    Well, that sounds beautiful!

The thing about honeymoons is that they feel special, no matter what. However, for the birthday... bring a cake! Maybe sneak up some gifts?

I've only done a day-trip in the Smokies on our way back from South Carolina and it is such a gorgeous place! We definitely want to go back someday.

Does the place you're staying at offer any 'honeymoon' or 'romantic' upgrades? We're doing a mini-moon in a state park and were able to add on champagne, chocolates, and souvenir mugs. If they don't offer those types of things, I agree with the PP on sneaking up some gifts/celebratory things to change the mood a little bit.
