Hey Ladies,

Anyone have advice on how to make a small wedding just as perfect as a larger one? Our families don't know we're not inviting everyone yet. He and I decided we just want small and simple but fear our families will be upset that, you know those cousins we never see or talk to or second/third cousins or family we neevr heard of, aren't invited. We thought going to them with a plan on how to still make it "what they always dreamed of for us" would help lessen the tension.
Thoughts??? How did you do it??

This sounds absolutely lovely and I'm envious.

FH wanted the BIG wedding so we are having the plated dinner, speeches, dancing, formalities wedding and reception. I would have preferred something closer to what y'all are doing. Smaller weddings are intimate and so memorable. I cannot wait for your BAM!

Honestly OP, it's all in the details. A well done and organized small wedding can leave more of an impact on your guests than a large disorganized wedding extravaganza. Guests will remember your interactions with them and be able to create memories with you and FH and not just recall how you swung by their table to say "hello". Cannot wait to hear more about your planning!

Here's my opinion on the whole wedding industry. Small or big the day is what you make of it. So in regards to your question about how can you make your small wedding just as great as the big one he will be just as great as a big one as long as you and your fiance are happy and enjoy the day. Doesn't matter if it's just you two or three hundred people. You need a just had a conversation with your parents and let them know that you two are planning the wedding your way and realistically if they're not paying then they don't really have a say. They may not like what you have to hear but you two just need to stand your ground and be firm with your decision.
