Small Wedding venues in California?

Erin, on August 9, 2017 at 3:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 23

Anyone interested in sharing the name of their venue to help those still looking for venues in California ? What were the pros and cons of your wedding venue? Was the venue great for small weddings? Thanks to anyone who respondsSmiley smile I am adding more info. I am from Los Angeles. However, I am wanting a garden/outdoor wedding. I am having trouble narrowing down the exact city etc that I want the wedding in. I am open to Los Angleles, San Fran, San Diego, Santa Barbara etc. The wedding will most likely be in Southern California. However, I am open to a Northern California. The wedding will include at most 50 people. Did anyone else have trouble narrowing down the location for the wedding? I've never been to a wedding before so feel pretty lost on where to start as is probably obvious from this post.

Hey Erin, you can look through the WW Venues tab for ideas - you can see pictures, read reviews, filter by location, style, and capacity... I hope it helps you find the perfect place!

My brother got married at a yacht club. About 35 people total - it was beautiful and worked out perfectly. Look into those as an option as most have some sort of dining room/meeting room space. Not sure where you are, but the one they used was in Santa Barbara.

I'm getting married at a new venue in the Central Coast/SLO area .... we are having 40-45 in attendance.

I grew up in SoCal, though, and lived in NorCal for 12 years. What area are you looking in? The WW vendor tab was helpful.

Wayfarers' Chapel at Portuguese Bend. Breathtaking. The small chapel at Santa Barbara's First Presbyterian church. Gorgeous.

I live in the Bay Area and got married at Temescal Beach House in Oakland. It's definitely a great venue for a smaller group of people and very private from the rest of the park. Plus there's a beautiful view of the lake/sunset.

Where in California? It is a huge state with an even bigger variance in price ranges and styles depending on where in the state you want to get married. I'm getting married in Sonoma and used the WW vendors tab to find my venue.

I'm getting married in San Diego and having the reception at a restaurant. Can you give some ideas for which areas and type of venue you are thinking?

@Nancy I feel like I should know you :p I grew up in PV and moved to SB when I was 15 .... know both places you're talking about. Loooooove Wayfarers Chapel. So pretty. SB Presbyterian is lovely although I think you have to do pre-marital counseling through them to get married there so unless you're local it can be tough.

Hello Everyone! Sorry for not clarifying. I am interested in looking for venues in Southern California. I have been looking at venues in the los angeles and San Diego area. I am also looking at possibly venues in San Fran.I am from LA but am open to other areas. I haven't really decided on a specific area yet. I really need to narrow it down.

Coronado Club Room in SD is gorgeous and accommodates up to 75 guests. I think the pricing was around $150/hour.

We're getting married at the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier (look up Alfredo's Beach Club) in Long Beach. Our package is $85 per person and includes open bar (beer/wine/signature drink), food including apps (and there are like 5 different food packages you can get - we went with Mexican) tables, chairs, basic lighting, arch, and service... so pretty much all we needed was DJ, officiant, florals, photog, and cake on our own. I thought it was a steal for the area. They have an upstairs area and private patio area on the pier for reception and they do the ceremony on the wing of the pier. It's awesome. No cons thus far. Oh and since you're in LA totally get your own flowers from LA flower Mart it's a steal!! Good luck!!
