Small details i should think about?

Leah, on April 20, 2023 at 11:30 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

We just booked our Venue for Aug 2024! Next would be catering/photographer. Are there any small details of a wedding I should be thinking about as well? I'm also curious if I choose the time for the ceremony/reception or if the venue does that? Thanks!

The venue will give you a start and end time, from there you can work with a planner or photographer/musician/dj to come up with the full timeline. That conversation will take place about 2 months out.

There is no need to think about small details yet. Focus on getting every vendor booked now! Start with what is most important to you and work your way down the list.

    Best of luck!

Our venue picked the time and it was stated in the contract the time it was scheduled to be. Does your contract with the venue mention anything?

As for little details, I would worry about them after you get all your vendors secured as those are going to be the most important things to pin down. After that you can worry about things like programs, favors, etc.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with Pinterest but they have amazing timelines you can follow. WeddingWire have checklist you can follow as well and the really cool thing about WeddingWire's is you can add your own thing into the checklist.

Time can depend on whether the venue is flexible or has a set start and time. If you are the only event it's possible you may have more options. Many venues do have specific beginning and end times, particularly if they host more than one event in a day. I would have thought they spoke to you about this before you signed a contract.

There are numerous timelines available online and on popular wedding sites but hopefully you've already made a guest list which is compatible with the size of your venue. Depending on the demand in your area I would start booking other vendors now if you want your choice.

You have to choose the time for the ceremony/reception. I chose 4 pm, and our wedding is in September. So that's not too hot during that time of year. I've included small details such as providing bottled water for our guests because we will be outside for the ceremony, but the reception will be inside. Trust there will be small things that will come to your mind and fall right into place. When is the wedding date?

Thank you! There was nothing in the contract and I did reach out to the Vendor. They stated we would choose the time Smiley smile

Thank you! I did look into everything. We have the ability to set our own time for the ceremony/reception. I believe they only have one wedding per day.

That is a smart idea! We will most likely have water bottles around as well for guests. It is next year Aug 31st 2024 Smiley smile

I actually chose my time for the ceremony. It helps that they only do one ceremony a day so we were able to rent our venue for 12 hours. Which gives all the vendors time to set up because our ceremony isn’t til 4pm.

Yes we ordered this aluminum tub off of Amazon and you can have your names and wedding date engraved in it. Then we got the labels with our names and date on it as well. Just something small but cute.
