small champagne bottles as favors

papijack, on February 27, 2009 at 1:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

I am thinking of putting the small (half-sized) champagne bottles at each place setting on the tables, for favors. What do you all think?

Good idea or bad?

I think it's a good idea. Get the personalized labels if you can. I'm doing bottles of sparkling cider with personalized labels (my theme is fall). Good luck!!!

I love the idea and even thought of doing those with wine for the adults, and sparkling cider for the little kiddos with personalized labels on them, however I'm afraid they won't be able to take them back on the airplanes with them. Instead I'm going to do something similar but as Thank You Gifts for our Parents and anyone else lending a hand with our Vow Renewal, however I have to check into the prices of getting the wine from a Vineyard in Maryland (it's 2 hours away from us) that has the most delicious wine and it's very different tasting too and how expensive it would be to get a couple cases out to Louisiana. I say go for it. Who doesn't enjoy a glass of bubbly?

    Thanks all!

How do you suggest I get the personalized labels?

One of my cousins owns a liquor store, so I am going to try and get a quote from him for a bulk purchase.

Stores like Liquor Barn and Total Wine, sell the small bottles of Korbel Brut for for around $3.

I am doing mini bottles of Verdi Spumante that I bought at Jewel Food Store for $1.29 ea.I bought a pack of Avery mailing labels which I paid like $6.00 for at Walmart they come in a variety of sizes you just have to find the one that you think best suits the size bottle you are using.I then went to avery.com and designed them with our engagement photo, name and wedding date. They also have other clip art designs that you can use as well.It was really easy and they turned out great.

Avery makes sticker paper which is a full 8 1/2 x 11 sheet and comes in white or clear. You can get them at Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Micro Center, and they come with 20 sheets in each pack. You can make the labels in Microsoft Publisher either in the size of a post card or just make them the size that would fit each bottle and copy and paste as many as you would need on one sheet. A paper cutter or even bringing them to Kinkos to ask them if they'll cut them the size you need for you. They are repositionable so if you put it on cockide you can fix it extremely easily. I've used the paper for several projects, and it works so well.

I am a wedding minister, I was at a wedding this year where they had done it and the guests really enjoyed it, it was something they would be able to use or keep and not throw away or put aside to collect dust. They got many compliments on this.
