I just booked them. Trying to get them to call me for a few weeks now. I just keep doing the online chat and they say their phones are down.

Run! They’re a scam company! We lost $1295 and it was such a stressful mess. They lie constantly and give a bunch of excuses for why they can’t get back to you. I have had a contact number for a photographer they set us up with for our engagement session, but then he left us hanging and it wasn’t until I contacted the company two days before our photo session that a lady said there was a death in the family so we had to reschedule. She said she was taking over the company and would handle things from there. She even called us and promised everything would go smoothly. After failing to follow through on a zoom meeting and matching us with a new photograph, I tried texting her and she ignored me. My fiancé called and the number was out of service. We tried the other number that the first guy texted us with and that was out of service. Now I’m emailing them and asking for a refund with two weeks to go from my wedding, but a guy named Austin Cribb is claiming to have taken over the company and that he’s not sure who handles the refunds, but he’ll follow up once he knows more. He won’t give me his number. If you go on Facebook, you’ll see a few people who shared their experiences. One is a photographer that never got paid by them and the company kept the photos from the couple and didn’t pay the photographer. The other is a bride who paid in full and never heard back. I’m praying I get a refund, but I’m not holding my breath. They told me I would process my “cancellation request” but it takes 3-4 days. I gave them until tomorrow and then I’m reporting them because they’re scamming vulnerable engaged couples blind and stealing money.

I got an email from Austin Cribbs today, the guy who claims to have taken over the company, and he said he’s submitted my cancellation request. However, he claims it’ll take up to 90 days to process it. I work in finance and that’s a load of crap. Debit transactions can be done in minutes. He also won’t provide proof of refund or proof of my original invoice, contract, or receipt. If you’ve paid any money to them, report them immediately and call your bank to get them to cancel your payment to them. I’m probably out $1295 now.

I submitted a fraud claim to my bank along with screenshots of our conversation or lack thereof. I was working with Brian. I was not going to play their game any longer.

Has anyone had any luck in getting their money back? We booked them in August for our May wedding and now I am sick to my stomach reading all this. I emailed them over the weekend wanting to set up our engagement session and have not gotten any response. Any advice would be appreciated!

I asked for a refund and a copy of all of my receipts, contracts, and proof of the return. He claimed the refund will take up to 90 days, but I never heard back on the proof of transaction. I should have clued in earlier when I didn’t get proof of transaction from the get go. I just got married on Saturday and it was a miracle we found a local photographer a week and a half before the wedding. What we did was report Small Cake Photography to our state’s Attorney General. They’re investigating the situation. Maintain all records of communication with them and pass those along. That’s what we did.

We also talked to our bank about the scammers and they opened an investigation too. We weren’t super hopeful because we paid Small Cake in full in mid July and only discovered they were a scam in September. But we just found out today that our credit card was refunded by the bank. No thanks to the Small Cake scam company, but we’re grateful the State is taking action and our bank allowed us a refund. The process took about a month.

I am glad that got sorted out for you! We called our bank to alert them of fraud and Small Cake just emailed me back with that employee Austin's email to reach out to set up our engagement photos. At this point I think I should just let the bank handle our claims against them. When you told Small Cake you wanted to cancel, was there a penalty or fee?

They made a mess of standing us up for our engagement session two days prior and then claiming they had new management three times, that I told them I had decided to go with another company and wanted a refund. They tried to talk me into staying with them, but after giving them multiple chances, I told them I wanted a refund. They didn’t talk about a cancellation fee, but they did claim it would take 90 days to return my money. After that, I let the authorities deal with them.

Okay that makes me feel better than there is not cancellation issues just issues getting the money back. I cannot believe this happens so many people. Just devastating. I found them via the Know so I assumed they would be checked out and legit because of that.

I'm so sorry this happened to you too. I have been trying to get ahold of this company for months to take our engagement pictures and now they are just ignoring all my messages. I spoke with a man named Michael and booked the Gold package. His number is no longer working but it is 773.250.7754. They scammed me out of $2,795!!!

I am also in the same boat. I booked the 10 hr gold package with video. I lost out on $3595. I booked with a guy named Bryan. No one has reached out to me about a new General manager. Website and Facebook is deleted, numbers are disconnected, emails were kicked back. Does anyone else have any new news about them?

We’ve attempted to report the purchase as a fraud since we can no longer get in contact with the company no matter who we email. Hoping with sending over all the time stamped emails with no responses from them the bank will be able to take care of it
