I toiled over these invitations, making sure every flippin detail was perfect. I proof read, had FH proof read, had brother in law who is a graphic designer proof read and thought ok, they are ready for print. I toiled over these invitations, making sure every flippin detail was perfect. I proof read, had FH proof read, had brother in law who is a graphic designer proof read and thought ok, they are ready for print. Brother in law changed some wording on the directions so I cut and pasted it in, but did not read it before hand, stupid bride brain, basically the direction reads..

“Make a Make a right”…

and then continues with the directions. So the first two words are duplicated. I am such a perfectionist and I am feeling like a total looser, I’m having a total meltdown. Am I overreacting? Should I reprint, FH says No Way, I’m on the fence?? What do you guys think?

I really don't think it's that serious, in that it does not change the content of the directions, but for the perfectionist in you... :-) why not just re-do them, if it's not too costly.

I think I would have to reprint them. If you are able to reprint them, then do so, if not I would definently leave them out but dont stress yourself over it either. Good Luck !

    It happens!

I wouldn't re-print. I highly doubt the company who made your invitations will fix it for free since it is your job to proof read them, not theirs.

A similar thing happened to me, my RSVP's said 2010, not 2011 haha and my graphic designer (who made them) didn't even notice!!!! I wasn't going to fix them since I figured the mistake was pretty funny and no one would be confused, but my fiance insisted we fix them. We got stickers made to go over the entire section and it actually looked really good.

@Leah, it is not the fault of the printing company if your file contains an error. Even speaking to a manager will not change the company's policy on reprints. That being said, at our company, if it is our mistake, we will reprint for free. If it is on your file, and no proof was requested, it will be your expense, but without additional setup fees. If it was on the proof and you approved it, it is 100% your expense, full reprinting costs.

Most of the time the client finds their own mistake to be unimportant, and chooses not to reprint over such a mundane detail. (Unless its our fault, of course!) Any guest who notices it will not likely mention anything to you about it. If they do, then I think they are just rude. Don't stress, mistakes happen, we are all human. : )

Thank you all for your advice, after one sleeless night of crying, talking to my sister, my best friend, my mom, and my FMIL I decided not to reprint them.

I got them printed at Kinko's and bought the invites at Michael's in a set, so I would have to buy two additional sets just for that one card, (they stack a certain way) it wouldn't cost that much to do it, BUT I have decided I am not going to stress over it. It is a small mistake and I am human. I can't think everything will be perfect for the wedding because it won't be.

That being said I am not going to create extra work for myself when I only have about 2 months left to go!

It is very liberating to say, you know what, screw it Smiley smile
