Slick bottom shoes- i don't want to fall!

Trista, on July 20, 2019 at 6:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
Hey everyone! I need some advice! I got some beautiful purple wedges for the big day, but they are super slippery! I can walk just fine on carpet and surfaces with grip, but walking in hard floors, like my kitchen, I feel like I'm going to slip and falls any advice on what you've done to make shoes less slippery? Thanks in advance!

You can buy anti skid pads that you stick to the bottom of your shoes. I've seen them in the check out section of shot stores, but I'm sure you can buy them online too.

I am not 100% certain on this but I have heard if you scuff them up a bit they become less slippery?! Not sure if you want to scuff up your wedding shoes but I’ve heard that as a trick

I saw a video someone took a cheese grater to bottom of shoe to scruff it up. If you do this I would try it with a cheaper pair that you don’t care if they get ruined.

Target has them too. I’ve used them on several pairs of shoes and they work great.

Pro tip, try out those anti slip pads ahead of time on a floor similar to your dance floor. Some of them have so much grip that they’ll grab the floor with very slight pressure, which means you may have trouble with turns or any kind of sliding along the dance floor. Pre-test and if they don’t work, scuff the bottoms on a sidewalk or with a grater/coarse sandpaper instead Smiley smile

You can take a nail file and scuff up the bottoms which will help make them less slippery

I’d definitely recommend getting the anti-skid pads! My cousin was in a lot of pageants growing up, and that’s what she always used to make her heels not skid. I borrowed a pair of her heels for a “pageant” I was in during high school, and the pads work so well!

Check YouTube. There's a hack I saw years ago about creating tread using hot glue!
