If you're about to respond how you aren't doing a registry for whatever reason, or aren't expecting anything- kudos to you but this is not the board for that... I need help- Working on registrys this week. Sooo how many guests are you expecting? Do you know the dollar amount of your registry? Price range of items? Which registrys do you like/hate. I think I've decided on BBB and Crate and Barrell- but have no clue how much stuff to put on it. Any insider into about your registrys that you love or hate let me know!

Lol I probably have the most expensive items. Mine ranges from $30 to $2000, most of which are above $50. I took off all the really cheap items (like kitchen gadgets) because I knew that if I got a $5 item from a guest, whether it's the shower or wedding (especially the wedding), I'd be pissed. I have a $1400 and $2000 item, but figured those could be group gifts, I'm not expecting to get them at all.

You have already seen a few others say this but jumping on the "wide range" of items bandwagon from a couple of bucks to the infamous Kitchen Aid Mixer. Multiples of towels, linen, and pillows quickly help to increase the count. Also for any "set" I put on the registry I also placed each individual item... for example the 10 piece stainless steel cookware set could be a group thing or an individual may actually purchase just the grill pan. Hope this helps!

Oh and I did Macys and BBB... alot of duplicates between the two and SHOCKINGLY I have noticed that Macy's tends to have a better price on the exact same items sometimes.

We have about 70 on our BBB and around 60 on our Target registry. We also have a honey fund. Ours is any where from a few dollars up to a $400 Kitchenaid mixer (fingers crossed on that one!!) We're inviting around 215 people. We prefer cash but wanted enough gifts on the registry so people had options if they really wanted to give us something.

We found the best and biggest help from bed bath and beyond. They have a great return policy and she gave us the best advice by saying "if you really really want it, scan it. Even at there places you register with because not everyone will go to the same place. If you get multiples you can return, exchange, and trade from here." That was great to know. I think we put a $200 vacuum on our list because ours died 3 days before the registry. So I am sweeping with a broom the 1 and only room that has carpet. lol Our bed bath and beyond registry is 7 pages (front and back, so like 14) long. She said that it is normal. Remember your closest family and friends tend to go over board and get tons of stuff. We are inviting 126 people. We are doing our second registry at khols this weekend. I am not sure if we are going to have as much scanning, but it is fun. Good luck, don't over think, and go crazy and over scan.

Because FH and I have most of the stuff we need for life, I don't have a lot on my registry, about 100 items. We registered at Overstock.com because of the fun, unique items we could find there. We got really creative with the stuff we put on ours, like wall art, a Christmas tree (getting married in November), a lazy Susan, and Command Hooks. I also made sure to only put items on their that I would not be disappointed to receive. Because of the area I live in, I tried not to go over about $200-250 for my most expensive items because I know I will not get them unless a huge group gets together to pitch in. Or if FH family decide to go overboard (my family for sure would not (: haha ). My guest list is about 100 for the wedding. Not sure about the shower yet.
