Hi! My sister got engaged in March of this year. We are only 2 years apart and have a pretty good relationship, although she lives far from me and we visit each other maybe once or twice a year. I was hoping to support her in a bridesmaid role, if not maid of honor. She has a number of VERY close friends who she was a maid of honor for at their weddings.

It's been a few months and I'm starting to get worried she won't ask me. I got an invite on facebook that was started by two of her close friends planning a bachelorette party for her ( that she doesn't know about yet). This makes me think that maybe she has asked friends to be her bridesmaids already, leaving me in the dust. I don't want to ask her straight forward about it because that seems desperate and rude. On the other hand, I would feel very hurt if she didn't at least ask me to be in the party. Given this situation, would her friends really plan the party for her without knowing they are bridesmaids?
