Master November 2013

single stem bouquet

For the BM and junior BMs.

I really like this picture, but has anyone actually only carried one flower in a wedding? Is it weird to not have a "bouquet?" I'm really leaning this way. I like the no-fuss simplicity, and a great bracelet.

Not personally, but I saw a wedding like this. It was pretty, but a few of the BM had no idea how to carry it. They almost looked awkward. I would say as long as you show your girls a pic of how you want it carried it will look great!!

I haven't seen just one flower but I have seen like 3 or 4 long stemmed cala lillies (I think) and I love the simplicity of it as well! I like it!

I've seen this at a wedding, except the girls each had one sunflower. I think it won't look awkward as long as you pick a larger bloom.

My sister got married last year and her BM carried only 1 flower each. I thought it was cute.

ToBeMrsM - I posted that last week. BMs almost always carry bouquets too high - major pet peeve for me.

I have not seen it - but the right size single flower is very nice. Last time I was a BM, we only carried 3 flowers (roses) - and it was not in front of us but held on our arm.

Oh hunny, oh hunny!!! I love this idea, I have gone back & forth with this as well, so for me, I say go for it! I love simplicity. I am a firm believer of less = more. Smiley winking

Paris, I love this idea! Maybe a hydrangea even? This is totally doable and could look stunning with the right flower!

I've officiated several weddings where the BMs carried a single flower -- it looked fine.

I tell the BMs to put the bouquets in front of their belly buttons.

I've seen a "composite" single flower; which is actually a bunch of petals combined to make a large "single" bloom...the above looks like that....

I want a composite, and I'm going to ask at my florist if they've ever done one, but apparently it's a tedious, long process and the flowers only last for so long because you basically disassemble several flowers and create one big flower. I don't want to take a chance paying for one from someone who doesn't have experience.

My BM's are actually going to carry a single Calla lily with ribbon wrapped around it with their initial on it. I like the simplicity of this.

I've done a composite before and it really is tedious...and to me, it wasn't worth the time...it starts to wilt so fast! Though...that shouldn't be much of an issue for you with your November wedding. I say go for it, if it's what you want!!

I think a Star-Gazer Lily would look gorgeous (y'know, if it fits your color and theme and blah blah).

The bigger the bloom, the better!

I have actually been leaning towards this myself.. I love it because its so simple but looks very elegant. Im thinking since our colors are white and red. Going with 1 single red rose with a white ribbon tied to it maybe.

I plan on having my maid of honor and I carry a single-stemmed rose since it will make our theme more pronounced...tree and rose: my fiance is the tree and I'm the rose. The one thing I'm debating is how to embellish the rose without taking away the natural beauty.
