Silly Question? Help!

Alma, on November 20, 2019 at 7:10 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

I think I am over thinking this lol

We are purchasing our own silverware and I don't know what is best.

A. Dinner knife, dinner fork, salad fork, and dinner spoon.

B. Dinner knife, dinner fork, and salad fork.

C. Dinner knife, dinner fork, and dinner spoon.

Are you purchasing it for use at the reception? If so...I know this may not be helpful, but I think it depends on:
    1. How formal is the reception? That will help decide if you want the salad fork.
    2. How much silverware do you want in your home?

Depends on what you’re serving... and how (plated, buffet or family style). Are you having a cake or dessert? You’ll need an additional fork for that because I doubt anyone can wash all the dinner forks fast enough. 😂

Do you really want to lug all that dirty silverware home at the end of your wedding? And clean it all the next day?

Hey Alma!! What are you serving for your meal? This will definitely inform what should be your highest priority for silverware.

Are you serving dessert or cake? As Rachel said, you should also keep this in mind when buying your silverware! Have you looked at the price of renting them for your wedding?

What and how are you serving food wise?

Normally it is on the table as:

Salad fork, Dinner Fork, plate, knife, spoon.

if you are having a buffet believe it is only:

    dinner fork, napkin, knife.

Were having plated dinner. I don't know if people would mind using the same fork.

I was going to rent but I found it more affordable to purchase. Our catering does not offer that option.

Were serving plated salad & then chicken w/ roasted potatoes and veggies.

were having cake but that will be plated differently.

We didn't want plated dinner and plastic utensils. Purchasing them is the best option than renting for us.

We're also planning on buying our tableware too, since it's a micro wedding and we can update what we have. Who are you buying from, if you don't mind sharing?
