Silk vs satin

Virginia, on February 25, 2020 at 2:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

I want to order a long bridal robe for getting ready and I am torn between silk and satin. What is everyone else doing? I worry about static and how a robe hangs. Don't want it to cling and emphasize any rolls, lumps, or bumps!

Silk is definitely more luxurious/softer but satin is much more delicate and prone to snagging. I prefer silk.

Satin is also more prone to static. Silk is a natural fabric and satin is synthetic.

As mentioned, satin is man-made (nylon and polyester) while silk is an all-natural fabric. Both are prone to static so may cling to the body. Would you consider some other type of ‘getting ready’ outfit?
