Signs

Liz, on July 6, 2018 at 5:14 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15
I’m starting to put together all of our signs we will need and picking up vintage frames. What are all the signs I should be thinking of? Right now we are thinking of a welcome sign and doing our seating chart. What else? Thank you!!

    People forgot about restroom signs if the venue is either outdoors or a place where most people havnt been before.

    Warning: a few people on here dislike the sign trend and will tell you you don't need them... I agree that there are very few you actually need, but personally I think signs can be really fun and cute! That said, I'm not really having a ton. We have a welcome sign, I made a little banner to go on our card box, and then I still (with only 15 days to go!) need to made a matching banner for the frame we are stringing our escort cards to, and I want to make a little sign for our guest book as well.

    Besides that:

    - you could do one for where guests walk into the ceremony either a "unplugged ceremony" or "choose a seat, either side" if either of those things apply?

    - doing signature drinks? you'll want a sign for those

    - a directional sign if your venue is sorta spread out

    ex)

    ceremony -->

    <--- love everywhere--->

    <--- dancing

    -theres lots of ideas all over pinterest of course, but a lot of it will depend if things fit your space/plan for the day

    I think you should limit signs to those you feel are necessary for things to flow smoothly. If something isn't the easiest to find, or you have specific things you want people to write in your guest book, a sign could help. Don't worry about signs just for the sake of signs, though!

    I'm only having a welcome sign, a bar sign (basically saying open bar and having our signature drinks on it), and a guest book sign. Some people have a "gift/card" table sign but we'll have a box for cards that should be pretty self-explanatory. It depends on your wedding logistics, e.g. if there's a lot of separate locations for things or areas like the restroom are hard to find, you might want to include direction signs.

    Hi Liz! I think a welcome sign and seating chart are a great start! Are you having a signature drink? If so, I would make a sign for that! Other than that, it all depends on how your ceremony is set-up! If there needs to be direction to either the ceremony or reception I would go ahead and make signs for that!

    We are planning our wedding at a rental cabin up in the mountains, so we are going to need a way to mark the way to the correct cabin. So, you can have signs pointing the way! And signs letting people know where bathrooms are if they're not right there. And maybe signs directing people to the food, and to the dance area, and whatever else you want to put signs up for. We are only doing signs to help people find the way to the cabin and maybe to the bathrooms.

    I think signs are cute when used sparingly, so I would use one for whenever guests might need direction (specialty cocktails, bathroom directions, etc.) in addition to a welcome sign or a seating chart.

    We're having a polaroid guestbook, so we'll have a small sign with instructions on changing film nearby, but otherwise, not much of anything, as it's a small venue and pretty self explanatory.

    Hi there. We are having a fujimax guest book as well and I'm trying to figure out how to make a sign with instructions and what to say . We need to explain how to change the film. I'm worried that having the sign made would be expensive but aren't sure of other options.

    We will have a welcome sign, an unplugged ceremony sign, our jenga guest book sign, and 2 bar menus since we’re using local beer and wine.
