Signs??

Futuremrsk, on May 19, 2019 at 10:59 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
What sort of signage is everyone doing for their wedding? I'm trying to narrow down what we really need to save on costs. Our venue provides a welcome sign at the entrance to the ballroom. Heres what I'm thinking of doing.
1. Cards/gifts sign
2. Guest book sign
3. Table numbers/escort cards
Looking on pinterest and stuff I see so many signs and am wondering, which ones do you actually need?

Besides escort cards and table numbers, I don't think any signs are really a necessity. People know what to do with a guest book and a card box.

    Hi there!

I think this really depends on how many signs you want!

If you wanted to signpost everything in the reception you could, or you could keep it simple!

The four you have mentioned seem to be the main couples choose to do Smiley smile

Super handy the venue provides a welcome sign! Is it personalized with your wedding details (e.g. date, names)?

We only have: seating chart, cards/gifts, and guest book. Our venue's layout is pretty straightforward as well so a parking or welcome sign is redundant.

I would cut escort cards and do one large seating chart. They tend to be a little more expensive and time consuming.

We have the ones you listed, and also a sign with our hashtag.

It's true that people will know what to do with a guest book or card box but I feel like I may not notice a guest book depending on the size of it... we made a sign just to draw attention to it

You could always appoint someone with the task of greeting people and asking them to sign your guest book for you. You won't have to worry about a sign and it'll make sure everyone can find the book/sign it

I got a sign that says "gifts" from Hobby Lobby on sale and there will be some sort of signage for seating. Otherwise, people can figure out the bar on their own and find their way from the outside ceremony to the indoor reception just fine. I feel like Pinterest has created the illusion that you need to provide a cute sign everywhere, including the bathroom.

I pretty much just did this one as a welcome and sign our Jenga blocks. Bought the chalkboard at Michaels 50% off and MOH used a chalk pen and did it. Worked fine!

We did borrow gold table numbers but they were just for ease of tables being released to buffet. We ended up only having 38 people so didn’t do seating charts or other sign needing things.

Oh! Reception was at our house and we did print some signs with a border and arrows to show where restrooms were and mark the downstairs bedroom so people knew it was her room and not a bathroom.

Instead of a gifts sign we just put a gift bag at the foot of the stairs where we wanted them to go, and put a card we had received into the open card box so it was obvious. It all worked!
