Personally, I am a fan of basics with barbecue, potatoes and corn on the cob. Other ideas that might be good are pasta salad, any kind of grilled vegetables, and garlic bread!

We served BBQ--pulled pork with bourbon barrel bbq sauce and quartered roasted chicken. We served cowboy beans (FH wanted those) and seasonal local veggies (I wanted these). We also had these amazing biscuits that were ginormous! Our food was delicious!

The venue we chose offers a picnic buffet, so it's bbq and kabobs. They offer mac and cheese, potatoes, baked beans, corn bread, corn on the cob for side dishes. All good options I think!

Yum! You all are making my mouth water! I was at a BBQ wedding that had a nice balance of colds and warms, including cole slaw and potato salad, but also broccoli salad in a sort of light slaw dressing that was to die for. Are you having a traditional wedding cake? If not, some pies might be really great--strawberry or strawberry rhubarb, pecan pie, etc.

We had 3 kinds of meat, mac & cheese, green beans with new potatoes, and cinnamon apples. Rolls & cornbread, too.

Make sure to have a vegetarian option! I went to a BBQ catered wedding a few years ago, and all the sides even had meat! Baked beans (with ham), green beans (with bacon), mac n cheese (with chicken broth and bacon), greens (with pork), salad (topped with bacon), cornbread (cooked in bacon fat). FH and I left early to find food because we got so hungry! My favorite bbq sides depends on the type of bbq (memphis, texas, carolina). In general, I like corn on the cob, grilled veggies, baked beans, vinaigrette potato salad, greens, mac n cheese.

We did BBQ. It was delicious, from a local, established favorite restaurant.

Mac n cheese, potato salad, green salad, pit beans (w/ bacon), rolls w/ cinnamon butter, buns, pulled pork, chicken breast and baby back ribs (the best part).

disclaimer: non of our guests were vegetarian

Mac and cheese goes with nearly anything, IMO. Grilled veggies are always good, as is potato salad, pasta salad, corn on the cob, and baked beans. Just make sure you can sample the food ahead of time to make sure it's yummy and filling!

Our sides include- potato salad, macaroni salad, broccoli salad, fruit salad, hot baked beans and corn.

This past weekend they had macaroni salad, fruit salad and baked beans. This was not enough as they only allowed 1 plate each. No other food was offered. I would see what they offer and how much of it they give for each guest.
