Side bun with Veil?

antsy, on December 15, 2011 at 10:24 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

I'm having a hard time finding a picture of this. Its hard for me to imagine. I have a hair trial, but I'm trying to narrow down a style for her so we're not spending too much time undoing and redoing my hair. I am planning on wearing a chapel length lace trim veil and maybe crytal hair comb during the ceremony then switching to a fascinator during the reception. Anyone do this for their wedding? Pictures please Smiley smile

I'm actually doing this for my wedding. My hairstyle is a little different though - it will be all pulled back and full in the back rather than put to the side. I've seen very few pictures of it being done but I can check out my pinterest account to see if I ever found anything later when I get home. I'm not sure what a fascinator would look like ... I'm just taking the veil off and having a side flower for after the ceremony.

Here are a couple pictures I found. The second one is with an elbow length veil, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with a cathedral veil as well.

I'm doing a side bun also and my hairstylist said it wouldn't be difficult to put a veil at the crown. After the ceremony I'm taking off the veil and adding a flower piece. I don't have any pics of the bun with the veil as I didn't have my veil at my trial.

Thanks ladies. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't look weird.

@Judith- thanks for the pics, I had a really hard time finding any. I don't really like the second pic so maybe placing the veil lower is the key.

I feel like a long veil might hide your hair too much for non-ceremony photos. I think the veil will be perfect for the ceremony though since the emphasis should be more on your face.

Maybe you could wear a birdcage veil or no veil for some photos before the ceremony while your hair is freshly done.

I think the fascinator sounds perfect for the reception.
