Shuttles and Invitations?

Futuremrsw, on June 4, 2015 at 12:43 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

Hey everyone,

I'm the process of wording our invitations and wondered if anybody else providing shuttles for their guests included this on their RSVP cards? Did you have them indicate whether or not they would be utilizing it? How did you word it? Was it only included on your info cards?

We have one bus making two trips before and after the ceremony/ reception, and I wanted to get an idea of how to judge how many people would be using it.

Open to any input! Thanks!

I made up inserts on business cards from Vista Print and sent them with the STDs letting the guests know about the shuttle. Last week the schedule was finalized and the guests get the times when they get to the hotel.

I did not. I included an accommodations card in the invitation about the hotel block, and it said to visit the wedding website for more information including travel, food, and transportation to the ceremony and reception. I'm assuming the vast majority of my guests who are staying at the hotel will take advantage of the shuttle.

I put it on the info card. In case the image is too small to read, here's how I worded it:

Parking - We recommend parking at the Serra Museum. A shuttle will be there to take guests to and from the ceremony. The shuttle will run from 2pm until 3pm, leaving every 15 minutes from the Serra Museum. After the ceremony, the shuttle will take guests up the hill to the reception.

Shuttles aren't an option at my wedding. Everyone has to park at the hotel and get shuttled. I am putting on my insert in the invitation "Please view the wedding website for parking and transportation" and in bold put "There will be minimal parking at the event"

ETA: Feel free to comment if you have better suggestions for wording.

I had a directions card with my invites and mentioned the shuttle there. Exact wording: "From Hartford Hilton: We will be providing a shuttle, please check wedding website for details." The week before the wedding we followed up with everyone staying at the hotel to give them the details. We had two trips to the ceremony, one early for the bridal party to do pre-ceremony pictures, then one for the guests. Then we had multiple trips back to the hotel as people were ready to leave.

I put a space on the RSVP card.

__number of guests request transportation between the event hotel and the wedding celebration

I will email these people the schedule once I have all my responses back.

It mentioned to guests about the hotel block and the discount rate along with address and phone number and to reference the Maltese-FH room black to receive special rates by May 6, 2015.

    And:

Complimentary Shuttle transportation has been provided for guests by the bride and groom between the hotel and reception

@Lara that's what I was getting at doing. Thanks!

@maltese- I like that wording too!

I have this up on our wedding website now, but I will definitely include a little blurb about this on the guest info card and then include a line on the RSVP card about the shuttles. I guess it's a good thing the invitations I want to do are from etsy and the way she did the RSVP card was sooo effing weird- it included registry info at the bottom of the RSVP card. I was like nope nope nix that. That's coming off. So now I have extra room for activities at the bottom of the RSVP card.

Edited to add a pic of the RSVP card. These are truly lovely invitations but I mean, why would u put the registry info on an RSVP card you have to send back in? Needless to say that's being moved.
