Show me your dress! Real bodies, real dresses!

This is my dress! I got it off the rack. It was my size (will need very little alterations) and is the only dress made like this. 🥰

I just had my first gown appointment yesterday. I had an idea of the material I liked (lace and tulle) and some idea of the shape I liked (fit and flare and A line), but I told my consultant I wanted to try one of every shape just to be sure. I ended up figuring out that I like A line, but more of the A line that has a tapered layer underneath and a tulle overlay so I get the best of both worlds. There were a couple dresses that met this at the salon, but I’m not sold. My plan is to go shopping elsewhere now that I know what my shape is so I can maximize my appointments to find something I love.

Advice: Try on dresses even if you think it’s not your style or has an element you think you don’t want. And try on some non-white dresses. They can look really great with some skin tones, they photograph well and make lace and other elements pop.

I'm a size 14 and I'm 5'2 if that helps.

Sophia Tolli Aleena Dress

Stalked this dress on the internet before finding a bridal salon that had it in store. Called made an appointment didn't even know it was part of a trunk sale which put it within my budget. Tried on a handful of other dresses but as soon as I put this one on, I didn't have any reservations of any kind. Something just clicked and I got all of the signs I needed to say yes, this is my dress. I didn't want to take it off.

Don’t mind my face, I was talking to my sister, haha! It is more pink than this photo shows. The lighting was awful for taking pictures.

Thank you, this dress wasn't even on my radar. It wasn't until I was walking to the dressing room with other dresses that I turned to my consultant and said, "what about this one?'.

Now it's just time to get that booty into shape haha.
