Should vendors put out business cards?

My bartender asked if they can put their cards out and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I get it's good advertising for them, but the day is about me and my groom, not them. Thoughts?

I wouldn’t mind - but I really like this idea.

It rubs me the wrong way. I’m happy to provide their information to friends who ask and will leave reviews, but my wedding is not free advertising and I don’t want my guests solicited throughout the night.

You could just say no, BUT you will write them recommendations on social, WW and tag them in photos as a hired vendor. Your photographer might help out with tagging them and all your vendors in their blog and photos too! And, obvi you'll tell people you hired them when they ask and promise to forward their info! Smiley smile Word of mouth is better than a business card that will likely get lost in a drunk person's pocket!

Our DJ walked around to each table and handed out her business card, I was livid. I feel like it’s pretty tacky (not to mention, it was mostly an out-of-town wedding, so none of them are potential clients). The day is about you, your vendors can advertise on their own time

If they have a small holder on the bar with their business cards I wouldn't mind that at all. I'd prefer that over them walking around handing out their cards. They're trying to make a living. It wouldn't take anything away from your wedding or decor. The focus will still be on you, your groom and your wedding. Sometimes people dont have an immediate need for a particular vendor but want to hold on to information for future reference.

I've personally never seen that before.
