Should I wear fake nails?

Marie, on October 12, 2016 at 4:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

So, my wedding is in 3 days and my nails have been long and beautiful and well cared for till about 10 minutes ago when one of them broke -____- .... I've never had fakes before and know nothing about them. I have gel stick on designs for my nails for the wedding and was hoping to have the nice long clean look. I'm not heartbroken or anything just like welp this sucks. Should I just say oh well and have the stubs or would fakes be fine? Are they expensive? What are the best kind to get? Can my jamberry stick-ons go on them?

Thank you

I hate that fake nails really ruin your real nails after you take them off so I'm always in support of natural nails.

Maybe just an overlay would do im not sure if your jamberry would stay on that though. I prefer fake nails because I bite my nails off

Usually they will put on 1 fake to match the length of the rest of your nails. It's not ideal but to me that would be worth it.

In my opinion you can just go with your natural nails (w/jamberries if you like). Either even them out or just let one be stubby. If you don't usually wear fake nails it might feel funny to do it for the first time for your wedding day. My nails were plain for my wedding and you can't tell in any photos. Unless you specifically ask, your photographer isn't going to be focusing on your nails.

I've worn a full set of fakes from the salon, done stick-ons at home, and had long natural nails.

You can wear jamberry on any/all of them.

You can also have tips put on at the salon if you want to have the ends/lengths even (or just a tip on the broken one).

I went the cheap route and did stick-on nails from the store. They looked great, but definitely ruined my nails underneath when I removed them. Full set from the salon will also ruin your natural nails if you remove them right away (I'm talking just the white part, it doesn't ruin the part still growing unless you rip them off instead of soaking them off properly).

What if you put a fake one on the broken one and left the rest??

You could go to a nail salon and have them put an acrylic nail just on the one that broke so that they're all even, then you can go with your original plan!

Have them shape the long nails and add one fake tip to the other one.

    not a crisis.

Your using jamberries? Honestly, I have always had short nails and my jamberries always look good. I love my jams! ^_^ You should be able to buy some fake nails that stick on from walmart that are plan, that you could see if the jamberries would stick onto. The nails would last a few days and won't damage your actual nail that way.

Ugh, absolutely hate fake nails. Only exception were Lee press-on nails when I was a pre-teen and teen lol. Just get a manicure and rock your one short nail, no need to fret. Focus on having a magical wedding day!!!

Thank you for the info all! I think i'm going to just have a tip added to the one short nail. Since my nails have a very significant difference in length from the broken one i think leaving it short might just look too off. If they do the tip and it looks significantly different from the rest I'll just have them do tips on all of them. I really appreciate all of the great input!!!

I decided against it and have never had long beautiful nails. I just prefer to feel natural instead of my nails feeling heavy.

How long of a difference is it? I would definitely be careful having an acrylic put on, they do a lot of damage to the natural nails because of the buffing they do. I don't know how just doing a tip would work on just one nail.

I think just 1 fake to make it the same length as the rest. Fake nails feel really weird when you first get them and can take some getting used to. The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable on your wedding day. Hope it works out!!
