Should I go back to my natural hair color for my wedding?

Carmella, on January 24, 2012 at 4:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

I've really been wracking my brain as to weather I should go back to my natural hair-color for my wedding next year. I have naturally dark blone/light brown hair that is pretty unremarkable. I have had super dark brown hair for a couple of years now and a lot of people (myself included) think it looks better.

My problem is am I going to look at me wedding pictures in ten years and wish it would have been the "real" me? What would you do?

How about you try some highlights in your dark hair? This way you will be able to see if you like the lighter hair? Good thing is you def have some time, but would want to start the process soon.

I am dealing with this issue myself. Although my mother hates my darker hair! I have started stripping my hair once a month in hopes of lightening it because, like you, I don't want to look back with regret.

Thank you ellen, I might do that...even though I'm not a big fan of highlights. :/

K, what are you using to strip the color out of your hair? I like that idea because it is always easier just to go dark again.

I've had every hair color a person can imagine. In the past few years I stayed with what I believe looks best on me. So I firmly believe the "real" me has nothing to do with hair color.

In other words, if you like the way you look with dark hair, what's the problem? After you marry the man of your life, and have all those great memories, I doubt you'll think about your true hair color. Do what looks the best on you.

One n' Only Color Fix by Jherri Redding. You can get it at Sally's. Just don't use step 3 (per my hair dresser).

I don't think that you would ever look back and say "I wore the best hair color on me, on my wedding day". However, you might look back and say "why didn't i wear the best color on me on my wedding day. You should have the color that looks good and that you feel fantastic in. I hadn't even considered going with my natural color, its light brown and blah. I'm going with the hair color that I feel good in. And I guarantee there will be plenty of things you look back on and wonder why at some point because things change and go out of style. No matter what color your hair Smiley smile Oh and one last thing... weddings are never a good time to try something new/something you haven't been doing for a long time.
