Should bridesmaid dresses be the same?

Apparently, BM used to dress the same as the bride to trick evil spirits. But eh.

Same dresses prob be ok. I always liked the mismatched look. But ultimately I went with Azazie and told them to pick a style they liked that was different from everyone else's as long as it was the same length, material, and color. I have BM out of state and wanted them to pick a dress they looked, could afford, and would ne comfortable in. But really, it depends on the vision you are going for.

I was thinking of doing different looks and having the girls choose between like two or three looks but my ocd kicked. all the girls will have the same dress due to this.

My girls are worrying the same designer, fabric, color and generally the same silhouette. But, no one is wearing the same dress. They picked the dresses that they feel good in. It was really important to me that they feel gorgeous in their dress.

No they don't. Mine were all different styles. Similar lengths and same colour.

You can do almost anything nowadays

I am having the girls get the dress in the same color from the same store (so that the color definitely matches) and having them be the same length, but the top they can pick so that they can be comfortable. This way it looks uniform enough to look good in pictures, but still everyone is comfortable!

I'm letting my girls pick a dress they like the only requirements being:

1. Floor length

2. Blush or rose gold sequin

I love the look of different dresses in the same color pallet!

We are doing they have ti be the same color but I'm letting my girls pick their dresses. They are paying for them after all so I want them to be happy with them too.

My MOH is my mother, and she wanted to pick a dress from a boutique, so she is wearing navy. The other two BMs live across the country from each other and pretty far from us, so I chose metallic steel blue at David's Bridal and let them pick the style of dress. I think it will all look good!

Mine all have the same color, material, length, and designer. But they chose the style dress to fit their style. I see it less and less where they're all wearing the same dress.

I think where they have completely different dresses looks okay some of the time but doesn't always work. I saw photos from a wedding recently where there were so many different styles, prints, and textures that it just ended up looking like a prom photo (aside from the obvious bridal gown).

My MOH has a different dress from my 2 bridesmaids who have the same dress and my Junior bridesmaid has a different dress.

We're going with Azazie. I picked a color, length, and fabric and am letting them pick their own style. I want them all to feel comfortable standing up with me.

All my girls have the same dress and same color BUT it's an infinity dress so there are about 25 ways to wear it and they are all welcome to wear it however they want as long as it's appropriate for their body type. =] I also let them decide whether they wanted to keep the dress long or have it altered and shortened. =] It's up to you and what you want!

I gave my ladies a color range and asked for floor length. They all bought dresses they felt great in and fit their budget. I love mismatched dresses! It was perfect for my vintage garden wedding.

You can do whatever you want! I think it's getting more common for there to be different dresses with the same material and color because different styles suit different body types. I personally get distracted by wedding pictures where all the bridesmaids are wearing the exact same dress and it's really unflattering on one or more of them.

Mine are same color and designer but style of their choice (different).

I picked the color and fabric and all my BM chose different dresses.

My plan was for each of my bridesmaids to be in a different style dress and same color, but strangly the 3 of them all chose the same dress, which was nothing like the styles i planned. But seeing each of their faces light up when they tried the dress on sealed the deal. Now i just have to figure out a way to differenciate the maid of honor from the others.
