We are getting married in late spring/early summer, and it gets pretty warm that time of year where our venue is. I was thinking the ladies would appreciate wearing a short dress, so I told them they could pick out short if they wanted. I've given them about 6 different styles to choose from. I thought my daughter would be the easiest of the group, as she's the youngest at 28. She's like "no mom, you need to have us get long dresses. This is a formal affair."

LMAO!!!! Whoa, ok. I didn't realize she felt so strongly about it until that moment. Summer vibe, my dress is kind of summery feeling, so I really thought short bridesmaids dresses would be the way to go. But apparently not. She thinks that bridesmaids should always wear long dresses because of the formality of the event. Ok. So, we're still kind of back and forth on that, because I think my other 2 BMs (sister and cousin) are on the same page with me on that. I'm also considering allowing my daughter to wear a long dress, and the others can choose a short dress if they want. I don't really care, either way. I know what I'm wearing. I just want them to be comfortable and happy.

I like the look of both. I am getting married in late July, so my girls opted for short dresses.

Definitely long for all my BMs... It’s a formal wedding and I’m asking everyone to wear formal evening gowns so they won’t be the exception

I originally wanted short but they all felt more comfortable in long, so we went with what they were more comfortable in.

I agree long dresses covers up more and allow more comfort and confidence , especially if they’re legs aren’t as appealing as others. I’m k OVER 50 and I prefer gowns for that reason

Short! It'll be summer in the Midwest. A long one would probably be torture for my girls
