Hi! My FH and I got engaged in February and are getting married August 31st. We are aware that it is a short engagement and that's not typically "how it's done." Hi! My FH and I got engaged in February and are getting married August 31st. We are aware that it is a short engagement and that's not typically "how it's done." We are getting quite a few comments about how we should wait and get married next year. I get that it's most likely because we are young (I'm 22 and he's 25) but some people are very rude about their comments. Does anybody else have this issue? How would you guys suggest responding?

First off there is nothing really so called traditional anymore. If you both are happy in your decision then no explanation needed. And since the average invite goes out a out 6 weeks in advance ,all your guests have enough time. I honestly don't think there is a need to defend and response your getting that is negative. Remember it's your life not theirs. Good luck. Smiley winking

Our engagement will be 24 weeks, or 5 and a half months when it's all said and done. We just tell everyone that we are keeping it simple and planning for when works best for our families and that we are super excited and blessed to be getting married so soonSmiley smile
