Shoes! Help!!

Tiffany, on March 8, 2020 at 5:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

I'm struggling with shoes. My dress is super girly ballgown and I love wedges so I've been looking for some of those. BUT...I've recently started to think about wearing Converse and buying a pair for the whole wedding party and decorating them myself or finding someone I could pay to decorate them. Nothing crazy, just their position in the wedding and date or something simple. Here's my dilemma...

Heels can change the way you walk so I was thinking I should wear wedges for the ceremony and then change into Converse for pics and reception. I don't want super tall wedges but I'm afraid that if I get my dress altered with wedges it'll be too long for when I change into Converse and it'll make it hard for me to walk and dance in my dress.

Has anyone ever worn different types of shoes during ceremony and reception? Am I overthinking it that having my dress altered with wedges will be too much of a difference for when I change shoes? I'm stuck, idk what to do. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Shoes! Help!! 1I’m buying these wedges and they’re very comfortable wearing with a ball gown except when we take pictures in the sand

I assume you're going barefoot in the sand then putting your shoes back on during the reception, right? That's kinda my thing...I would only wear wedges during the ceremony then wear the Converse during pics and reception so I feel like I'd step on my dress a lot

Yes -trying to not rip gown by stepping on it. It’s being altered so it’s a bit above the ground.

I will be wearing different shoes for the reception and ceremony. The ceremony is in the grass on a lake so I will wear barefoot sandals and the reception I will change into Kate spade glitter keds.

So you didn't keep stepping on your dress when you were barefoot?

Same dress, same size heel. So you'll have to decide on the height of the shoe. Converse or glitter kate spade shoes or toms are really popular options

I had it hemmed to barefoot, since the heel was only an inch. You couldn't see my feet.
