Shoe help - Keds/Kate Spade glitter sneaker

Elaine, on October 6, 2017 at 8:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I'm planning on wearing the Keds Kate Spade glittery sneakers for my wedding. I have knee and foot issues so heels were never an option, and I want to be comfy on my wedding day. I found these sneakers in light blue and am in love with them! I ordered both the 7 and the 7.5 (I'm between sizes based on style) and cannot decide for the life of me which pair to keep. Anyone out there wear these shoes, either for their wedding or otherwise? Do they stretch out? What socks did you wear, or did you forgo socks? The 7s are pretty snug but not painfully so, and the 7.5s feel a bit more roomy and slip a little in the heel. Both feel comfortable out of the box but it's hard to anticipate what they'll feel like broken in and after a full day of walking/standing/dancing! I don't want blisters from too small shoes, or other annoying issues from too big shoes!

    @monique I'm between sizes so it's hard to know what's "true to size". I have other Keds in 7 and they feel much different than the 7 in these sneakers.

    My FH got them for me after I raved about how cute they are and how I don't want to wear heels after my ankle surgery! I haven't worn them other than to try them on, but I have a 9.5 and I typically wear a 10 because they were kinda long. I plan on wearing those half socks that won't show with the shoes, so the shoes don't rub. And I plan on walking around in them closer to the wedding to break them in a little

    I don't have a pair but I would probably opt for the larger size and put in heel inserts to help with the slippage. You'll be on your feet all day and the extra room might be a good thing.

    @DoggoMom any particular heel inserts you recommend?

    @KatieJade good to know. I need to find the right socks to really be sure I'm picking the right pair. I just don't want to miss the return period!

    Https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003IJ7RHO/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1507340275&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=heel+inserts&dpPl=1&dpID=51FkVCJw40L&ref=plSrch

    Hopefully that link works. Most stores sell them (Target, Walgreens, etc...). I prefer the fabric covered inserts over the gel ones. The gel can still rub and cause a blister.

    I have them and I got a 10. I really should've gotten a 9.5 like @KatieJade because they are too big, but I would be afraid they would rub on the sides of my feet if I went smaller. I don't know if the running big would apply for all sizes, though. I bought a pair of cute blue ankle socks I'm going to wear with them.

    @Shai some of the colors are on sale for $60 instead of $85, and Keds often has free shipping or 10% off promos!

    @DoggoMom thanks!

    @Amy that's so helpful to know how the sizing worked out for you. I'm hoping proper socks and maybe an insole will help me decide one way or another.

    I think I have the same ones you are talking about! I got mine my true size but I have a wide foot so I learned they do not stretch. If you have a narrow foot and the size feels find, I would go with your actual size. Those half socks are definitely a must with those too for comfort.

    I've got the flats! They definitely are true to size, but they do stretch out a bit!
