She is more excited than I am

Cheri, on December 6, 2014 at 12:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I have a friend that is so excited for my wedding she is actually more excited than I am. She isn't part of the wedding party because that includes family members only but every time we get together that is all she wants to talk about, I think she just really loves weddings and planning weddings. Does anyone else have a friend or a family member that seems to be even more excited about your wedding than you are?

My oldest sister...she gets upset if I don't tell her right away if I book someone. Every time I talk to her, doesn't matter if it's been 1 day or a month, the first thing out of her mouth is asking about wedding planning. Knowing my sister, she keeps offering help but when it comes down to it, I know she's going to back out. Trying to keep my distance but also keep her informed. And I know she can't wait to go BM dress shopping even though she's not even in the party....

I have a friend that is so excited about my wedding. But I can understand why. Her daughter got married in July she was stressed out many times while helping her daughter plan the wedding. She's not in the BP but she's helping plan my shower and is such a sweetheart. She also told me she's taken care of my "something borrowed", even though she won't tell me what it is. I don't mind her excitement, even if she's more excited than I am! Her wedding anniversary is 3 days after our wedding. So at the reception, we're going to have the DJ play a special song for her and her husband to dance to as a thank you for helping out with the planning.

My MOH is really excited for my wedding, probably because she eloped and never got to plan a big wedding for herself. We have a pinterest board for the wedding and she definitely pins more things that I do. I think it's nice to have someone that doesn't mind talking wedding stuff all the time because then I don't feel like I'm boring everything else with this stuff.

A lot of the women I work with. Two of them especially. The one I see everyday asks me about this or that at least three times a week. Since we work in a thrift store every time she finds something she has to be like "Wouldn't this be great for Mel's wedding!?" Thankfully my MOH works in her department and shuts that shit down quickly. The other one I don't see as much anymore, but every time I see her she asks if I got this or that booked and wants to know every detail of it or what headaches my mom is giving me. It's nice to ask, but why do you want to know every little detail. Some of them are things I haven't even considered!

One of my bridesmaids is. She texts me countdowns and tells me all the time how excited she is. It's nice of her to do. I'm just sitting here chill and all six days out haha. I think everyone is waiting for me to get nervous or giddy and it hasn't happened (yet)

For me, it was my mom. I didn't mind at all - she's a joy to be around, and helped immensely with our planning. Smiley smile

I wouldn't say they're too excited, or more excited than me, but I have a couple friends that are definitely more excited than I expected. It's sweet though! And it's good to have someone to talk to about planning that I know actually wants to hear it.

My cousin aka Matron of Honor (her daughter is my god daughter) so she is double excited and always tags me in wedding stuff on IG or sends me texts.

My grandma! She watches all those wedding shows on t.v. and has never been to an actual wedding. All her grandchildren are either not yet married or got married at the courthouse. So, she is excited to get dressed up and have a nice day/night out.

My mom because we're FINALLY getting married. She's not a person who likes to plan or anything, but she wants to go with me everything wedding related. So, I have to always invite her to meetings, dress shopping, etc., lol.

Last but not least my best friend (BM). Her son and my son are both 3, so I asked her if he can be a RB along with my son and she got so excited! Lol. Im not sure if she's more excited to be in it or get her little dude all dressed up! lol. Oh, and FH has some cute SINGLE friends that will be apart of the bridal party, so even though she happily engaged herself, she wants to partner up with a cute GM! Hahahaha.. I think its so funny because they literally will only be walking out of the ceremony together and doing the grand introduction together, oh and of course all the pics! It's cute because it's so innocent, yet funny. She tells her FH everything, so she told him and he said "well don't get mad if you see me sitting down, arms crossed, with a mad look on my face while everyone is clapping" he was totally joking. If you knew their relationship, Im sure it would make more sense on the "funny" aspect of it.

Any who, no it doesn't bother me at all! Since, Im not one to really bring up the wedding, since to most people it doesn't even exist yet, it's nice to hear someone already setting the weekend aside and picturing it Smiley smile Then again it's very early, maybe I should answer this when Im about a month out and have my mom calling me asking about what color dress she should buy. Actually, she already is reminding me not to forget to get our marriage license! Lol. It's wayyy to early, but she says if she keeps bugging me there's no way I'll forget. So, I don't see anyone bothering me, Im really laid back and cheery in general, so Im pretty confident Im not gonna turn into a crazy bride, well maybe with Fh, but even he been surprisingly into each wedding tour/meeting we have to go and that just gets me more excited to see him excited. I thought he would be like whatever about everything, but he actually has things he wants! (mostly reception, dinner and alcohol deets) go figure! Smiley smile

Yes. But I'm pretty sure it's not because she's truly excited or happy for me, but because she wants to be included in everything I do. She's a bit of a clinger (obsessed would be more appropriate, but I don't want to sound catty or rude) and I've only known her since September.

I wish there was someone in my life who was even remotely excited about my wedding. For the most part no one really cares or comments on anything unless I bring it up. I try not to because I feel like I might be obsessing too much.

My dad! My mom is just as excited but with my dad you wouldn't really think of him as the type to get into wedding planning. He is helping us out with some of the DIY and its really sweet. My dad isn't the emotional type so its really moving that he so into the planning.

My mom asks me daily about 'new plans' I have to laugh at this point... she can't possibly think we come up with a new plan or decision every single day.. we've been engaged over a year and another 6 months to go.
