Sharing a bathroom with SO

So I'll warn you in advance this is TMI, but I've been wondering about how other people deal with this. I hate pooping when DH is around! So I'll warn you in advance this is TMI, but I've been wondering about how other people deal with this. I hate pooping when DH is around! It's always embarrassed me but it's gotten worse lately because we're doing renovations and only one bathroom is functional. Everyone poops, I know, but I'm still embarrassed by it, I think mostly because I tend to really stink it up when I go #2. DH isn't shy about it when he goes, but you can barely even tell he's used the bathroom. With me, on the other hand, there is NO way to hide what happened in there. For a long time I tried to avoid going when he was around, but recently gave up. Instead I just leave the fan on and keep the door shut for awhile after I finish to try and give him the message not to go in there. Once he didn't trust the warning and went in there, and immediately came running back out. How embarrassing, right?

So, I just thought I'd ask if anyone else is a big stinker like me, and if so, how you deal with it around your SO?

My fh is pretty open (sometime too open) he does whatever with the door open. I only pee with the open. He makes all kind of grunting noises on purpose. He will go anywhere doesn't care who's around. I cant poop in public places. We skype alot and he does it while we're on there. Omg his farts are sooooooo bad. Im very irregular like one of the pp so i only get to poop so often. Like once every 2 weeks (if im lucky). He also sometime ask me to wipe is butt (its a joke). I say hell no,he says why not u may have to day it some day anyway why not today.

We don't care either. We don't go sit in the bathroom while the other person poops but we don't act all secretive about it. We're married. Everyone poops. Everyone farts. It all stinks.

I don't know who mentioned about not pooping everyday but I don't either. Probably about every other. It's always been that way and I talked to my doctor about it and she said it was totally fine if that's how my body has always been. Stop trying to diagnose someone with cancer unless you are a doctor and have personally seen this person as a patient (in which it's against the law to post their business out there anyways..!)

No one is diagnosing anyone with cancer. That was an example that something could be wrong.

I struggle with anxiety when going to the bathroom when FH or anyone is around. I have for years so I understand the struggle. He has never heard me go #2 or even pass gas because even that triggers my anxiety.

I don't have this issue at home, but I did try to cover it up at work. Use the poo drops! I've only tried one brand, Fresh Drop (it works VERY well), but I imagine the other brands would work well too. You can also try lighting a match then blowing it out, that burning sulfur smell helps cover it up too.

FH likes only to poo at "Home Base" as he calls it. He didn't go at my apartment for the first 3 months we were together. But then one weekend he never made it home and broke my toilet. Since then, he hasn't been embarrassed by it. I'm also part of the no gallbladder club so there are no effs given on my end- when I gotta go, I gotta go. He's more respectful of privacy than I am though- if I'm in the shower he'll wait to come in and even brush his teeth until I'm done. In my mind though, I live with the guy, will be for the rest of my life. Life's too short to pee with the door closed.

I have a gastro disease where I typically only poop once a week (it's ok, I don't eat solid foods and I'm monitored by drs), so that helps me and it's usually not stinky.... but my farts, oh boy. I am worse than our dog. We've learned to just laugh it off. My FH usually poops twice a day and is super open and comfortable with it, so he never thinks twice about it.

I think what's helped us is that with my gastro issues I've had to always be very forthcoming with this information, so it kind of broke that wall down. Though I can't poop if he's in the bathroom, I can pee if he's in the shower, but not if he's standing there watching me lol.

I was like that for a long time too. But that's not really possible long term when you live together. So I just kinda made myself get over it.

I have been with DF for 11 yrs. I was shy like that now after bearing 2 kids and he saw every little gruesome aspect down there I am not shy anymore. Of course I don't announce when I need to poop or fart and I don't burp like crazy in front of him. I still want to keep myself lady like but if I do poop and he's home I would warn him not to go in the bathroom.

Team IDGAF. We've been together almost 4 years and have lived together (or atleast spent every night together) almost the entire time. We've also only lived in an apt with 1 bathroom the entire time. No way could we coordinate or hide when the other has to go. Air fresheners and a closed door is all it takes. I would find it odd AF if one of us couldn't pass gas in front of another or had to be shy about using the bathroom when the other it home.

I use a spray that masks and eliminated the smell of the poop.

Why does Chivy still have an account? Will you, for the love of God, stop giving stupid, inaccurate medical advice to people? Geez. Also, I'm not the least bit surprised that you're proud of passing gas in public.

Some of you are way too defensive about Aurora's comments. She said what worked for you, you do what works for you. We don't all have to follow the same rule book when it comes to these things.

Women poo. Men poo. It's cool. I'm fine if FH knows I'm taking a long time in the bathroom or something, but I'm not shouting "hey, I'm pooping!" or leaving the bathroom destroyed just out of courtesy. He's the same way and that's how we like it. We might pee with the door open though lol
