Shapewear

Is it more of a mermaid/trumpet style A line dress? My gown was an A line but definitely had more poof. It was also a corset so that was nice, but because of the a line style i never felt like i needed shapewear. I guess it really just depends how much “shaping” you want. I have tried the “corsets” that you can buy at target, kohls, jc penney, that are the hooks. Those definitely help suck in the belly but the boning isnt quite strong enough, so you may need to look at lingerie/plus size boutiques and stores. I prefer more of a “control” than anything to really suck me in, and maidenform had a nice set i bet from target that i like. Firm and definitely help hold you in a bit, but i dont feel all jiggly or anything. Theyre a typical shaper piece but with a boyshort style instead of the knee length. They dont have straps or anything but stays in place pretty well and they were maybe $25!

In other discussions, I’ve seen members recommend the Spanx shapewear. Apparently, they have a Wedding range which has a variety of makeups (strapless, backless, etc.) for suiting different styles of wedding dresses!

Does the bridal salon where you purchase the dress sell any shapewear? They may have suggestions of where to get good shapewear locally also!
