Shapewear Help

Ashley, on April 12, 2020 at 9:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Love my dress - this is the sample. I purchased a size larger and plan on adding some coverage to the bust. My concern is the lower tummy. In addition to working out and everything, I'm considering extending the beading downward and wearing the Spanx catsuit. Any experience with adding beading for coverage or another kind of Shapewear that can work? Leave it to me to buy such a form-fitting dress!

Looks fine to me as is. But, as you mentioned, you’re working out and losing weight, so I bet it won’t be as hugging by October. I’m not familiar with spanx styles. But would the catsuit be something that has to be taken all the way off to use the restroom?

Oh, just reread that pic is the sample and you ordered larger... then you’ll be fine!

Thanks for the reply! The Spanx piece has a gusset for the bathroom and I also have a reception dress, so I'm aiming to use that quick change as an opportunity to use the restroom too.

I love your dress. That’s pretty much exactly what I went looking for and ended up with something completely different 😁

Maybe high waisted panties? Idk if that’s a thing with shape wear?? But I think that if you do the cat suit, it will smoosh and pull down the chest, plus it’s tricky to find shape wear that’s low back enough and low plunge enough...if you find something, let us know!

Skims has a lot of different shapewear shorts, they pull everything in without leaving underwear lines - I've heard rave reviews about them! I would suggest getting the lightest shade.

This is an example of one, but check out the website, there's lots of options!

Spanx is a very good brand. I've worn their garments for other occasions and never had an issue of them rolling up or anything.

I would just say to not let anyone talk you into a corset 😂 they are gorgeous and make you feel so elegant and sexy but the novelty wears off if you can't set without feeling like you're being stabbed.
You can also talk to a seamstress. Sometimes they can sew into the dress to get the look you want without having to wear additional garments under an already form fitting dress...it could save on how much added heat you would experience 😉
