Shapewear for apple shaped body shape...do they stay up?

Tina, on February 17, 2019 at 8:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

I'm a typical apple shape and carry my weight around my stomach. I am looking at this type of shapewear to wear under my dress. I have never worn the high waisted kind before but the support briefs always roll down on me. Anyone wear this kind? Do they stay up? Or do you have a better suggestion for shapewear? My dress is strapless. Thanks!!

I wear that style in the spanx and have never had an issue. I’m definitely Apple shaped. There is a rubber “stopper” at the top of the fabric all around so it doesn’t roll down.

Spanx were incredibly tight and uncomfortable on me even after going up a size bigger based off my weight. I was not a fan at all. I did purchase maidenform flexees from target and am pretty impressed. They have a lot of options for shapewear and were rather comfortable. I did have a small issue with the very top of it rolling down on my back if i wasnt able to pull them allll the way up, but it was just the very top, it didnt completely roll down or anytthing crazy like that. Its hard to describe. But for how well it sucked it all in, and how comfortable and affordable it was, i was overall far more happy with those than spanx

I bought these in nude for my dress on a white and they were surprisingly comfortable! They're the Cacique brand from Lane Bryant.

I've worn these, and they do stay up. However, they get hard to get up and down without breaking out in a sweat when you go to the bathroom (after awhile), haha. At least that is my experience...so I'd just take into consideration, anyone planning to wear shapewear, that you will have to go to the bathroom at some point in your dress.

I have the full body flexees brand ones and I like them too. Ive never had spanx (mainly because of the cost!), and sounds like I dont need to bother with them now either. Lol

Did they stay up well? My experience is that they always start to roll down on me which is the opposite of that I want! Lol

I've worn types like this and they stay up, but they definitely roll at the top. I got shapewear with boning in it to keep that from hapoening under my dress.

Where did you get yours from? I was actually looking for a bustier but due to my bra size Im not sure that will be happening.

They stayed up surprisingly well!! Inwas impressed. I know a lot of ladies tuck them under their bra to help them stay but as I'm not wearing one for the wedding I tried it on without tucking it and wore it around the house the night before. No rolling whatsoever!

They even have the ones with the longer legs which is what I originally had wanted to prevent thigh chafing. But also I'm glad I got these because I can buy cute bandelettes to wear and give it a little sexier of a look Haha

I'll need to look into them and see if they would have a size that fits! And I think I will be braless too so that was another reason I wondered about rolling! Did you buy true to size?

I sized up one size from what they recommended. I probably could have stuffed myself into tht size but I also read on their reviews that sizing up definitely helps with the rolling down problem.

I've been trying to figure out which shapewear to get and well. David's bridal told me they could measure me for some and point me in the right direction maybe try that option. I have tried these and the legs and stomach part roll down constantly

Not all all cheap. Yes I noticed when I sit down the top part rolls and if I walk long distance the shorts roll up

I got mine off of Amazon. They were $67 and I loved them! There was a hole in the crotch area too for using the bathroom. It wasn't the easiest thing, but peeing in a wedding dress never is I guess!
